Difficulty was insane but so the gameplay was very fluid and rewarding. Pretty popular sequels came out after that. A lot of older games come to mind but I can't remember them all. My favourite growing up was.... Prince of Persia : The Shadow and The Flame [1993] this for the macintosh was fantastic. still to this day one of my favourite games.

A lot of people railed on the glitchy level designs and that the gfx weren't top notch, but those were minor compared to the vs modes and overall gameplay. Nothing is more fun than Flamethrower-ing a yoda. EDIT: cover pic

Solid hit detection, fairly hard to get someone stuck in an instant-death-loop by juggling in the corner. (Actually, you could occasionally do more damage, in return, if someone tried to do that to you) No online multiplayer, but in person, it's a blast. Has solid RPG elements (i.e. upgrades), single player actually has a storyline for each of the characters. Character attributes means something & change the style of play. Solid progression in multiple tournaments. Each of the mechs you can choose do something different/better than the others. (And I hate the freaking Shadow to this day; I was a master at the Jaguar, though; ah, the joys of leaping into my brother and taking him down, I loved the counters) All in all, a great little game. Not sure how well it'll run now with DosBox, but if you want a solid single-player fighting game, this really has an incredible amount of depth to it. http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/94/One Must Fall 2097.html Very happy to see this . I played the crap out of OMF back in the day, and I still play it every now and then. Also, the main theme is awesome. + Show Spoiler + My pick would have to be Master of Magic: MoM and OMF are definitely some of my top favorite DOS games. In fact, I think I'll go and play one of these right now . Oh, the nostalgia!

Awesome turn based strategy game that takes place in medieval Europe This game is by far one of my favorite RTS's, its just an amazing game. Another great RTS that didnt really focus on making units to kill your opponent but more on managing your city.

Really good game. The AI was kinda mediocre, and the open world a bit too "empty". However sniping in this game was so cool, great depth of field etc...

If you haven't played it, and are a fan of RPG's or strategy games, I'd recommend you go and check it out.

Also forgot to mention this game. If you loved any Ace Combat game, you'll most likely love this one. Except the last boss. The last boss was the a pain just like how the last boss in ACZ was.

I don't think this game qualifies as underrated, but definitely underplayed. I just don't think it can ever find mainstream success or be super popular, just because not everyone can enjoy such a complicated and difficult game. I personally loved it but all my friends that I showed the game to weren't impressed. I've been playing a new character since the announcement of Dark Souls got me hyped to pick the game back up. Working on a pure mage (she's only SL 45 or so). I might also try a faith build of some sort later on. Almost all of my previous characters have been melee.

the game itself got good reviews, but it's an adventure/puzzle game and some people think those games suck. i was surprised at how entertaining i found it.
