edit: They weren't even close. Cowman didn't stand a chance. True, just saw them; Scarlett had some fun with Cowman. Even though she's obviously a few orders of magnitude better, she didn't underestimate him - she played smart, with good defense. And she showed Cowman how versatile she can play, making each game different. I think she also aimed to make the matches a bit more entertaining, seeing how Cowman doesn't put much of a fight. Nevertheless I'm glad to see her play everytime, regardless of the opponent GG

Just finished watching the games and just wanted to recommend game 2. It's basicly mass muta with some baneling mixed in vs mech. At least for me i really love seeing styles work where units are in some sense soft countered by another but still work with good control. (meching terrans may want to avoid this game!)

Of course Scarlett smashed. I'm really looking forward to seeing her play some tougher opponents, again no disrespect to cowman. Watching all these star players bounce between Code A and Code B, I can't help but wonder how she would perform. gogo scarlett!! <3

Thread here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=441761 Stream here: http://www.gameon.gg/stream Thank you so much for this; idiot that I am, somehow missed the 1st match but saw your post in time to catch the 2nd. So it seems Illusion studied Scarlett thoroughly before the match; there are two things he did quite flawlessly (it's quite clear he was expecting every one of Scarlett's moves): 1. splitting marines and kiting the banelings 2. dropping marines and backing them up with thors (to counter the mass-mutas). Scarlett played awesome as usual with superb macro and wonderful adapting to Illusion's harassment and at one point she had a bit of an edge. But Illusion had the thors which gave him a way to counter the mutas, so she couldn't handle the drops anymore. I totally like how the games between pros at such high level are a matter of completely changing situations in just a few seconds. GG Scarlett, even with the outcome she played excellent nonetheless. But people are getting used to her style and find ways to counter it; she might need to adjust things. -------- Scarlett vs INControL! as a fan of both i find it difficult to take sides <3 so exciting to see them both live :D edit - OMG, i hate those phoenixes with the fierce passion of a thousand burning suns. --------- Great victory by our beloved Scarlett in the 2nd match; honestly I can't figure out how INcontroL took the 1st game, as Scarlett's play is generally superior on multiple levels (which is clearly seen in game 3). I guess he managed to slightly pull ahead with that phoenixes focused micro. I'd say that was a bit lucky for INcontroL. --------- edit2: I'm actually quite worried about Scarlett vs Illusion rematch. He seems to have great countertactics against her. Let's see.

I actually think she looks quite a bit out of practice, unfortunately, but it tends to happen when she's just back from a break. Hopefully she can get back into her groove soon.

Hmm, I think you are correct in the sense that she was a tiny bit out of focus, but I would say it's not because of lack of practice, but rather Illusion's atypical play with weird timings, which was confusing for Scarlett at first, and caused her to lose the 2 matches. However she is extremely psychologically resilient - I mean who wins a flawless 2-0 to the same player after losing 0-2 earlier? Only Scarlett. She figured out his secret, adapted and gg. What a superb show she has put out, it was just poetry. edit: she plays tomorrow?! when?

The main deal was that she had barely any lings in his base when the trade started. Usually, when a zerg player accepts the base trade, they go in with mutas and a large contingent of lings. The mutas are there for both space control and utility, but the real dps engine is always the lings. When the trade was underway, she was forced to micro her mutas against phoenixes far too much (due to a low corruptor count and a lack of survivability on said corruptors, since their critical air armor upgrade was denied) for the mutas to be the primary dealers of damage on their own.
