chill out a bit with the confirmation deadline.
I think more countries would be able to get their teams together and play thanks to that.

Anyone interested in an Australian team?

sweet! thanks a lot

Any vision to have a "Europe" country of leftovers for other countries? :D France, UK, Austria, Latvia... all of these countries have 1 or 2 strong players, not enough for a squad though...

This does make sense from an inclusivity perspective. The point of all this is to get everyone active and promote this league.
On the other hand, when you take 1-2 top players from remaining countries, sometimes, what you end up with is a crazy super team that can throw the balance (maybe not from the countries you’ve mentioned, but you get the idea).
Just a thought...
|
Rest of the world super team. Do it.
|
So, I am willing to start this activity, to see if we end up with enough interest to create a European team, I understand Sugo's point, but honestly don't think it will be the case, Poland will end up being the Powerhouse anyway .
I have created a discord server, anyone interested please contact me on discord BSL-InDi #4848. And I will add you, Realistically 2k MMR at least would be required and I would suggest that if enough people show up we organize a tournament or something to find our lineup .
Just to be 100% clear, I am not going to be the captain or whatever of this european team, just kicking off the process, we will see at a later stage how we manage ourselves .
|
make two teams then
Western Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany)
Central/Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Czech Rep., Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia)
Maybe that would be a better idea?

That's a good idea, but depends on the number of people of course. We can centralize the first effort to see how many people would be interested then maybe organize 2 or more teams

Han- and I are looking to see if France has enough but we d be happy to join in a europe/western european Alliance.
What s the deadline btw?

I see there is a team Germany but no players listed yet. Who is the German leader? Do you have a couple spots for people like Eon/indi/squall? It doesnt look like we ll get any French players unfortunately.

afaik it's something like Cryoc T Bakuryu Z Remag P Mystique P Fischei P Masterey P
and they will add more
|
I am the leader of team Germany. People are not allowed to play for a country they don't currently live in, so Eon etc. cannot join our team unfortunately.
|
Yes i know it was to see whether we could make a western eu team if you were short but seems you have enough players. GL to you

Btw, what's the general criteria to join a national team? Merely living in a country, or having citizenship?
|

i guess that is up to the country leader/admin...
but generally is based on citizenship.

I feel like if you have to ask this question, the person in question probably shouldn't be on the team? It's really not that hard.

Considering that there are 2 opposite answers to that question in this current post I guess the question makes quite a lot of sense
I haven't lived in Spain for like 7 years. According to Cryoc I couldn't play for Spain/EU, but I would say the most common factor is citizenship?
|
Hey, Can you create once again invite for discord?
|
I think living in one country and being a citizen in another should qualify you to play in both teams, it should be up to the person to decide which team to play in.
|
go team turkeeeey!!! unfortunately im a fuckn noob so i can only support :D

I don't quite agree. By that logic, anyone living in England and playing soccer in Premier League would also be viable to play for England in the World Championship. Simply for living there.
|
damn.. thats A LOT of nations participating.. I hope everyone will play the whole league and people will actually show up and play so we avoid w.o's as much as possible.
great to see so many players and nations signed up already!
|
Wow, it's just awesome to have so many nations join! Only one really missing a the moment is bulgaria so i hope they will join as well

Please, can you share more detail info for upcoming games? Is it bo3 or bo1? When the games should be played? Deadlines? Channels?
If you want to create good event, you should pay more attention on details!

Yeah, need to give more time to this event
|
As it seems we have to publish line ups the next days and we'll have sets to play. The thing that bothers me is that we don't have any statement on if the matches are bo3 or bo1. We don't know what to do and how to contact our opponents, especially when we 'can play whole week' but when we get back from our job the LATAM are going to work, and when they get back from their job we are in our beds. So what we do during this whole working week? How to get our opponents to play vs them? How do they get us to play?
We need an additional layer of info so to be able to play and organize this whole thing. Currently, it looks like it is in 'alpha stage' and not yet ready to kick in.
|
Because a lot of people already play in various tournaments and due to potential timezones constraints having a week to play (CPL style) is really appreciated too. So good on you for foreseeing that. This only works with a set calendar and a common discord channel though and a very clear rule book (see bwcl 49 page for example).

It is BO1. 4 1v1 games, 1 2v2 game.
People need to get discord, and they need to arrange a time with their opponent once the opponent is arranged. People have one week to do this, as long as team captains submit lineups in due time, even in EU vs SA scenario they should be able to find one 30 minute period during the week where both are home and awake. It would be much, much harder to find one timeslot that would work for everyone. (Myself, I have a hard time playing bwcl because it's on a fixed schedule, while STPL is much easier because we can preplay games. )
Maybe there needs to be some type of contingency 'what do we do if the players can't find corresponding schedules' plan but my experience is that people are pretty flexible and agreeable.

I have a ton of experience of players running away from their opo till a deadline and trying to claim free wins after that. Flexibility and agreeability are different in the eyes of the different people.
The rest I agree.
