Jazriel Living in Ontario Canada Been playing for a while, maybe 2 years now. I'm not amazing but after a few games I usually figure people out and start going 50/50. I main Falco and second Marth. I also play Falcon, Fox, Sheik, & Link somewhat well. Gone to a few tourney's, usually didn't participate. I have really solid tech skill, just working on some of the fancier things but I can do most anything.
Goddamn, lurk more eh?
Are you back in Ottawa now?
I was in Ottawa for a year, started going to Fogel's again for the later half of it. Now I'm stuck in the middle-of-fucking-nowhere-hick-country at my family's cottage.
Name: Jazriel Main: Falco Second: Marth Other's: Link, Fox, Shiek, Captain Manly Active: 2k7 to now Location: Ontario Canada
HugS is the best Samus in the world but he does not by any means forego wavedashing. Just look all at those wavedashes out of shield in that video. They are a prominent spacing tool in his game.
The only Samus that doesn't wavedash that ever really played at a somewhat high level that I know of was like...Aniki, and that was way back when the Japanese still had videos regularly.
true aniki literally never wavedashed for almost all of his matches i remember i saw him wavedash ONCE in a match and it was so frickin' unexpected i favorited it loll
here's a random smash video i enjoyed watching.. old though

Rape, damn you can easily see the tech skill improvement since then.
wow, just from watching the first vod you can tell how much better mango is than m2k, despite his superior tech skill.
it's been a long time since i played but the biggest flaw in m2k's game seemed to be improvisation and reaction. it's not even a flaw really - i'm sure he's better at it than 99% of the players, but melee is just so fucking fast, the speed at which you can be creative is almost limitless - and borderline impossible. i think he's always compensated for this by his tech skill and mapping the game out - which can work for a slower character like marth, or sheik, but fox? his fox had enormous flaws 2 years ago, and still does.
and caldo, those are meteor spikes. you can double jump or up-b out of it if you time it correctly (has to be after hit-stun) and if you hit the wall you can tech off of it (which i think is what mango did 30 seconds earlier the life before).
oh man, this was the best game ever. i loved playing fox. funny, my brother would use marth, so it was non-stop marth vs. fox. i think we were both pretty good at it. my gamecube's gathering dust atm though..

I've been out of the loop for awhile now but M2K doesn't play Marth anymore and now plays Sheik? And Mango favors Fox over Puff? Any particular reasons for the changes? Those matches were very impressive btw, thanks for posting.
