Lost in the Warriors' domination this season was the fact that the Spurs were also a historically great team - with one of the best defenses of all time and more depth on offense than the Warriors (not more skill, just more depth).
This OKC team has regressed under Donovan. Waiters is an okay 4th option, but Ibaka is worse than he was a few years ago and their defense is worse than it was under Brooks.
That said, it's still just 1 game. Anything can happen when you've got 2 of the top 5 players in the league + injury luck. But it doesn't help that Pop is the best coach in the league and Donovan is probably bottom 5.

I feel like this game had everything to do with Alrdridge (duh, right?). OKC has nobody who could slow him down and and had nobody to take advantage of his relative slowness in defense. Of course, we've seen a series change quickly and Aldridge's shot could desert him.

As you said, his slowness is relative. I think he looks pretty agile on the floor for someone his size, even when he's switching on a guard (I even remember a couple of possessions where he defended Curry rather well).

the bursa on Lowry's right elbow at yesterday's presser was about the size of a macintosh apple.

Spurs are a 70-win team, easy, if the Warriors didn't exist this year. Nobody else in the league was close to 60. The last time they played, OKC also got blown in games 1-2 on the Spurs' home floor.

Idk if anyone watched, but Miami blew out the Hornets in the final game.

Was actually hoping Hornets won there. Dragic and company laid the spanking thou

This Warriors team is scary...I don't recall many other teams in NBA history (1980 lakers...thats it) where your #1 scoring player gets injured, but its almost as if his absence is negligible.

I suspect that the Warriors are relishing the opportunity to show what they can do without Curry.

I find the Warriors without Curry a kind of bland.

okc is pretty easy to attack for a team like spurs that thrive on figuring out movement to exploit weakness. the thunders have a roster where there are so many one dimensional players.

as fucked as Lowry's elbow has been for many weeks now..and its fucked. its worse than i've ever seen it... his dominant dribbling hand has become his left tonight. every successful shot he has taken tonight has been a layup. he can't shoot at all now.
the Pacers are messing up covering and reading Lowry because they're assuming his right hand is his dominant dribbling hand and tonight its not. pretty hilarious.
that shove by George on Carroll into the stands was total BS and could've lead to a brutal injury. George is a fuck-face.

The only thing that's really missing is Curry's beautiful finish. Otherwise, the Warriors looked pretty much like they always do: tons of ball movement on offense and a smothering defense.

I meant my Curry/bland pun.

I had my hopes high on both Charlotte and Indiana. Both lost

Man if the Spurs keep laying this kind of beatdown on the thunder, I could see KD getting out of not only OKC but the West. I'm definitely not doing some Bill Simmons level of homerism though this is completely impartial analysis.

I could see Durant and Westbrook going to the Lakers.
