And then every week, it's the team's responsibility to assign a player to each map. What player they choose depends what race the map favors, how the players feel about (e.g. does a player have a special build), and mainly who they think the other team sends out. Until both teams submit their player lineups to KeSPA, they don't actually know what the matches will look like. Granted, the best teams are experts at correctly predicting the opposing teams' lineups. For the round playoffs, Proleague uses the http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/All-Kill_Format and for the final playoffs at the end of the year, they use both formats.

I guess there's a chance KT doesn't want to send out Leenock as their 4th player, but I doubt it.

Each round uses a round robin format to have each team play each other team once. These past two rounds matches were held monday and tuesday evening in Korea. KeSPA chooses the maps prior to the start of a new round. Teams are given the map list for a particular match and then chooses 4 players to field on the first four maps. Neither team is aware of who the other fielded until the choices are submitted and the announcement is made prior to that week's matches. Each player will participate in a single match until a team wins 3 maps. If an ace match is needed the ace players are chosen and revealed at that time. The top 4 teams enter the single elimination all kill format playoffs. The 3rd and 4th seed battle with the winner playing vs the 2nd seed with the winner facing the 1st seed. Points are distributed based on standing at end of round with extra points given based on playoffs performance. Top
