I love it when players make ballsy picks. For all you that think he did it to avoid a bo5 with Savior, that's retarded. With a map pool like this and the Terran fest of players, he'd have been better off letting other players take care of Savior and taking his chances, maybe not having to play him at all. The reason why midas picked Savior is because he wanted to show that he's the best player around by picking and beating the best player in the world. He failed, but you can't knock him for trying. It's just like when Ra picked Oov in the group selections back in the day. Oov was the hottest up and comer in the world at the time and he smashed Ra's face, sending him into the worst slump of his career. Was is smart of Ra to do that? Maybe not, but it was fucking manly and he'll always have my respect for that. Unlike pussies *coughOOVcough* that always pick the lamest chump of an opponent they can get their hands on when they get to pick in selection ceremonies. Midas is awesome and though he is a choke artist he's trying his best to show otherwise by constantly putting himself in clutch situations. He'll eventually pull it out boys. We just gotta wait for him to do it.

its one thing to make a hard pick and back it up with a win, its another thing to make a hard pick and lose. he lost, henceforth the second-guessing. he can do this as much as he wants but i will never respect him until he wins one of them =P its just natural with scrutinized decision making that the ends will impact how the decision is viewed. just look at the NBA draft, when the Pistons picked Darko everyone was on board, justifying it, and they still were several years later until finally everyone admitted it: "it was a stupid decision." several years from now when midas is struggling to find confidence to qualify for starleagues we'll look back on this point and realize just how stupid he was to make this pick. you may believe differently, but we will see. michael jordan was essentially a loser until his game winning shot in college, he didn't even make the HS basketball team. would he have gone on to be the best player in the world and possibly in all time if he missed that game winning shot? many careers in all sorts of competition have turned on something like this. as i said before: midas win: gains confidence and possibly wins starleague, on the road to be a champion midas lose: cycle of self-doubt and second-guessing, wondering if he can ever get over the hump, possible failure to qualify for next starleague that's an awful lot of pressure (for someone that doesn't excel in it) and a pretty crazy situation to put yourself in... if he didn't pick him he wouldn't even run that risk. it basically boils down to if he won it would be viewed as brilliant, if not... well, we'll see won't we.

It isn't smart. It's gutsy, and I admire that in and of itself. When he finally suceeds doing that, I'll be proud of him since he forced it like a man rather than avoiding the situations that rattle him like a pussy. I'm not saying you're wrong for thinking the way you do, I just view it differently. I don't get why we aren't still talking about Casy's FE feint! Holy fucking shit that was PIMP! Best play of the year IMO. Fucking brillient strategic play!
