Reason: We no longer feel comfortable with a user who believes, 'These are people who need to be ridiculed, humiliated, and marginalized.' We wish you luck in the future. Somewhere else.
So depending on Oynsteins response we will have two or three open manager slots based on those who've expressed interest from last season. As xDaunts ban is permanent m he's out (didn't realize it was permanent at first).
BloodNinja & ZeroCoolSc2, you guys are in. Emnjay808, if Oynstein is a no, you'll take his spot. Will PM the first two with info. Doesn't look too good for you Jimmic and unfortunately, we haven't gotten enough interest in the past to set up 2 leagues though I'd always organize a second one if I had no league dues ; )
To the rest if you haven't paid, please do, otherwise Jimmic may end up in the league after all.
Also, we need to set a day and time. If we can't choose one, the default will be with what we go with since that's traditionally what we've done in the past, or at least close to it (early Sunday evening).
2nd also: There was some bitching last year about some stuff so air it out now if you want changes. I think it had something to do with going Yahoo traditional defense scoring or something dumb like that (Hawk brought it up I think).
dont mind when draft is since i can probably draft from work this year. as long as its not at an ungodly hour for me (so like anything past 6-7pm est and i'm gravy)

Same here. I'm off on the weekends so I'm always free. And depending on the length, I can take lunch whenever at work or do it on my commute home.
Of course of all of the returning managers, Joe and Jay (Hawk / Tonight) are the last to pay. And both are still posting in the 2018 thread...

You whippersnappers and your lingo. Tentatively, it's 6 pm est.

i was trying to save you the hassle of having to just send me back my money again
i think our commish should say some nice things about your reigning champion
also it seems it is okay with GTR - everyone up for moving the draft back to 8 or 830? get your bbqing and beach time in folks
Damn have been on vacation for the past few weeks and it seems this is already full If there is a spot that opens up I'd gladly take it and can be available for draft.
I think there could be enough interest for a second league if someone else wants to step forward to organize it. Looks like there is 2 or 3 interested not in this league and there's enough time to get at least 10.
Jimmic is in as the final manager.
Would Sunday 9/1 be fine with everyone, same time? Given Jays such a tl vet, figured I'd put it out there. Otherwise, looks like you'll be drafting on your phone...
Isn't there like a notification on drafts when its your turn? So you can watch the games while just picking your players when needed so you don't have to be focused 100%.on drafting.
Yeah. However, if people trust me to do it, I can do a random selection two days prior in R, with each manager taking their number in the manager list in the OP. (e.g., draft <- sample(1:12, 12, replace=F) and post the draft order here. I'm fine for whatever. Yahoo allows the commissioner to do a preset draft order.

Sounds good but considering ZC2 doth protest to strongly AND the much more damning piece of evidence hes a patriots fan, if there is anyone we need to worry about cheating its him.

We for sure need a sig bet when we face off!
I like the idea of knowing the pick position. If you could run that a few days prior that would be awesome.
Sorry - I never changed it back to the 25th. Same time (6:00 PM EST).
I have three leagues drafting on the 25th at 5, 6, and 8, including hosting our live draft for the last one which includes significant others and kiddos. Oyyy.

whatever, champions always pick last to make it fair
lol. Love that you include a Red Sox hat and most recent World Series champs. Boston #1 sports city in the world. Too bad all your real life teams suck.
Would people be okay moving it slightly earlier to 5:30 rather than 6:00? I'm hosting our local league's draft and will have the kiddo by myself without my wife; need to do a few things before everyone arrives including picking up some food, otherwise I'll most likely have to peace out early = (

had my first draft. 12 teams, .5 ppr, 4passing td. Start qb, 3wr, 2rb, te, flex
Cam Michael Thomas Golloday Green Gurley Gordon Cook Sutton Zuerline Denver
Ekeler, Ballage, Harry, Hardman, Brady
I have drafted better benches. I took the value picks on the nicked up/holding out stars. Those pan out I am going to be awesome. If not I have a problem lol. I figure Cam is a safe top 10 QB in a league that gives 4 pts for passing tds and 6 for rushing. I think Harry is gonna be a pretty solid flex guy. Hardman might be as well (I do not think Sammy Watkins is that good and hill can't stop powerbombing children) Brady is just insurance in case he misses week 1. Waivers are pretty bare right now, so I will probably flip him for a promising RB/WR as we get closer to week one
We have 6 team playoffs, I think I am in it with this roster

Listen assholes just because I drafted from the golf course drunk as fuck, does not mean I didnt have a sound strategy. How was I supposed to know this was obe of those strange drafts where you dress a defence, kicker , TE and only 2 backs? I thought it was a standard 7 back draft with 1 on the bench!

Of course we play each again first week. $20 bet for week 1? Also, doing the 3 drafts in a manner of 4 hours fucking sucks especially when they all have different scoring and rosters. - _ -

Man, I hosted a live draft last night and it was so much fun. Lots of beer, pizza, wings, and of course, completely unorganized but so much fun. Anyways, we were supposed to draft last week and one of the members is a huge Luck fan and always reaches early for Luck / TY Hilton. What a lucky fucker that it was pushed back to last night. His new team name is 'Just Damn UnLucky'.
On August 27 2019 01:04 ShoCkeyy wrote: I liked your old name "need more rbs" lmao
You can never have too many! I probably won't drop any when I pick up my Def Kicker and TE. The only pick I made (well it was auto drafted) that I am not so happy with is Russel Wilson, I could have had another better back!
Yahoo gave me a C+ on their report card..... Considering I was an auto-draft due to an unscheduled event popping up I don't know what that says about Yahoo's auto-draft AI.
Would be nice if they could pick up some of the QOL features that ESPN has. I can't be asked to rank out like 200+ players. At least ESPN allows you to set min/max thresholds on positions and even lets you assign rounds to draft specific positions/player types.
Yeah, I don't think it is very accurate given the players picked. Sure, my week 9 will be tough, but I think I got some quality that can come out and ball when needed. We'll see what happens as the season unfolds.

Cooks is primarily a deep threat but he's been overtaken by some taller and faster players. He's good, but not with the amount of passing that goes on these days.

Gonna be a low scoring affair for fantasy points it looks like. I need more screens to watch games, but I'll settle for watching Patriots thrash Miami.
I can't even believe Jacobs was dropped in the first place, nevermind betting the entire budget during week 3. Wowza. And the owner who dropped him, RB3 is out for the week, maybe longer.
On September 23 2019 06:50 ShoCkeyy wrote: Yea, your team did work this week lol
Yeah I'm pretty sure this is a personal record. I've been in this league for a long time (and other similarly sized / configured leagues) and I don't think I've ever breached 200 points in a single week before.

Every week has been crazy. I think this seasons has been wild in general. we have a shit ton of 3-2 and 2-3's so playoffs is still within reach for basically everyone heh.
Is there a bounty in that prize pool for largest margin of victory? B/c I would vote for one now.....
Now to slink back into my hole as I watch this team make the playoffs and choke it all away like seems to happen nearly ever year I play in this league.
should've seen the patriots-style rb switcheroo coming in detroit. i'm fucking done for this season. i don't think i'll make playoffs with my current w-l record.

What I don't understand is that this fuckin team pretty darn similar to the two others i drafted which are currently 6-3 and 4-5. The 4-5 is probably the best and I just hit the most buzzsaws in that league. But damn.
whatever, I still get to be obnoxious about being the reigning champion for at least a few more months haha

I was pretty confident in my team, even with giving away Jacobs. But this is some straight bullshit. This is why I don't do fantasy.
I forget if I mentioned here... but a cool thing we are doing in my other league is a separate pot for who gets the highest weekly score over the season to create incentive for losers like me who have been out of it for weeks. Thoughts on doing this for next year?

I had a league that did that. It worked well, don't mind it if everyone is on board.

Same in my other league, but we set it up as a combine score over three weeks. So four pots for the season.
Also congrats at c0ldfusion for clinching a playoff spot.

I'd be okay putting it in for this season.... but that has nothing to do with me having a ~40 point lead in said pot with 2 weeks left. I am okay with a small pot for a regular season award of some kind.
Every year I keep forgetting we have this rule, and every year I keep meaning to bring it up at the start of the league... And every year I repeat the cycle.
We can change that next season along with Hawk's suggestion. The issue is when we start our new season and I ask for recommendations, we somehow all develop alzheimer's and nothing changes unless I push it through...
dude, the league I run is identical lol. I was literally leaving work when every asshole responded with a slew of changes and we did a vote in the hour leading up to the draft. this is the closest I will ever come to having empathy for you. At least i get to play spolier for you now
Our league records right now are perfectly symmetrical. Even crazier, technically only 1 team is eliminated. Other than my match-up with Hawk, everyone has something to play for this week.
On December 02 2019 09:38 GTR wrote: So what's the math in regards to playoff scenarios?
Sorry GTR, bad news for you, good news for me. We tied, but I win the tie-breaker by 0.54pts (pts-for being the tie breaker)
(my team: 85.36 + 1275.48)-(GTR: 1272.20 + 88.10)=0.54 if you wanted to check my math.
BUT HOLY COW WAS THAT CLOSE! I was sweating my balls off just doing that math. Still, with that trickery on that Hopkins/Watson play or anything else that ,might of happened, I don't feel safe from any looming stat correction.
My team is the walking wounded heading into the playoffs! My 1st 3rd and 4th pick are all questionable. Cook injured last night! =-( and Mack and TY hilton look unlikely.
I'm going to need a lot of luck to advance and get healthy to have a hope.
Either way it was a fun year and I'm pretty happy considering I drafted while getting drunk on a golf course for a year end party. It was one of my most fun drafts ever with all the trash I was getting on the golf course and then some here in the threads.
I likely made the wrong choice sitting Gallup after his stinker. My thinking was Chi defense was good, but they ended up letting the boys get a ton of yards in garbage time, I thought the game would be closer.

Whatchya think?
yes it increase, i think you roll 4th + bonus in 1 payout for whoever has the highest weekly score over the course of the regular season
I'm against giving the bonus more than finishing third. One great week shouldn't get more over a full season. how about making it 50 for 3rd, 40 for the bonus, 0 for 4th?

I will second this. 3rd should earn more than the high score pot bonus.

Congrats c0ldfusion, I thought woody was going to spook you haha... Interview time, How does it feel to claim first again? Are you preparing yourself to get knocked out next year?
i actually do want to revisit this wack up concept
On October 06 2018 07:38 GTR wrote: i was thinking to make fantasy a bit more fun by changing up the positions to emulate a real 11-man offense and the potential formation it could have (minus the o-line of course)
qb (duh) wr/rb wr/rb wr/rb/te wr/te wr/te
it would completely change the dynamic of the draft though and will probably break scoring.
If people want to do a separate league like the one with the positions above, go for it. We always have more interest than space but I'm not interested in running a second league here so if someone else wants to step up, go for it.
Probably should have it so if season gets canceled who ever is in first wins or something. My hockey and NBA leagues we just canceled but knowing the chances are pretty high and refunding people might be a pain I think just awarding it based on standing at shut down makes sense. That and additional bench or IR slots!
I can pass the commissioner rights on but because you (GTR) have your information private, I can't set you as the new commish. Once you change that, PM me and I'll do it. From my perspective, you are the only one with a private e-mail and the only one that I cannot set as the new commisioner.
