other: Dark Archon. I really liked the lore for the templars and the archons, the duality of their ways, and these 4 are the most badass units out there, the real character of protoss.
I'm gonna have to vote Reaver, because right now most of the other units seem to have decent replacements. The Colossus is horseshit, both as a stand-alone unit and thematically. The Reaver with its scarabs and their hit-and-miss aspect makes it an intriguing and creative unit. The Colossus is Blizzard running out of ideas.
Definitely the Reaver.... the micro is so sexy.... no amount collosus can change that!!! keep in mind my opinion might be subject to change in sc2 beta : P
Dustin says SC2 has more micro than SC1, we'll see about that. Reaver vs Collosus.... Vulture vs Hellion... Scourge, Arbiters, Medics, Defilers, Vessels.
The thrill of a scarab dancing around in a worker line, no one knowing if it will kill 7 workers or just evaporate. The genius of the best shuttle/reaver microers in the game, killing terrans with simply a shuttle a reaver and 2 zealots. The combination of reavers, cannons, and a shield battery holding down a far expo and killing much more then its worth. the frustration of every protoss when it keeps moving forward even though you told it to attack 20 times.
I will miss all of those. I voted for scourge, however. The possibility of completly stopping a drop or killing a corsair in a split second shows how fast SC1 is. SC2 is going to feel so much like warcaft 3 where a grunt takes 40 hits to die... that's depressing.

What's depressing is (let me say it again) that they've removed most of the exploding stuff in favor of some sucky shit. So instead of grenade-launhing/mine-placing vulture we get hellion with some stupid flamethrower, instead of reaver we get this stupid colossus etc. etc.
I know this is a bit of a noncommittal answer, but I'm really gonna miss all of them. It's the combination of all of them that makes SC so balanced and diverse.
But I am confident that Blizzard can provide us with a whole new bunch of units that some will love and some will hate, while still providing us with an excellently balanced game.
Having said that, SC1 certainly isn't dead by any means, and even if it isn't being played in it's original form, it may still live on through the rumored "SC1 mode" in SC2, or even just a mod.
the fact that they've completely removed mnm micro is jus.. i mean honestly.. it's no long sc anymore.. just c&c + war3 with space settings.. sigh.. 18..
Wow, I haven't been following the development of SC2. But what the heck, did Blizzard decide to take out all the cool units. Man, they decided to take out all the units where you can't attack move.

I will miss Vulture the most as a Terran player, but the reaver was definitely one of the most exciting and game changing units if Protoss used them. If reavers were lost in a battle the announcers would go nuts. If reavers killed in a battle announcers would go nuts. If reavers killed PEONS, omg the fangirls would go nuts but after the announcers go nuts.
scourge, they are just so awesome! Reavers and vessels are kick ass but they are being replaced by kick ass units...the scourge is just so awesome, i will miss those little micro units.

and medic could also be slight mod into medivac. Queen is completely different unit. If you wanna call that slight mod then you could say viking is slight mod of Gol, banshee is slight mod of wriath, and hellion is slight mod of firebat/vulture.

Reaver is a cool unit in theory but its almost as buggy as damned scourges. Same goes for scourge for that matter, I loved the concept and use but they just don't work how they should. Collossus will prove to be just as crazy of a unit imo.
Arbiters are awesome but other units have repalcement spells/abilities so its no biggy. Mofo ship has cloak, null guys have stasis blocks, phase prism has recall.
Science vessel has a very decent replacement with the heet seeker missles and gun drops, (can it detect?).
Vulture I don't really care about. Fuckers are pretty cheap if you think about it. They serve so many purposes, scouting,speed, mines (also scouting/blocking), meat shield, harassment, cheap cost, quick build. Hellions are pretty much the same except no mines.
I just want to put it out there: I'm pretty sure the reaver will win, mostly because of the protoss masses... voted scourge, but none of these units i'll really miss.

Personally I like Arbiters the most of those units, but I will probably miss Reavers and Defilers as much. Thank god vultures are gone tho, they were always a pain in the ass -_-
Reaver by far, if only because the commentators screaming REEBOREEBOREEBOREEBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!! is pretty sick imo. Also because it is a useless unit if badly handled, and the deadliest unit in capable hands (I remember a Bisu vs Hwasin game on Medusa where Bisu's shuttle/reaver was beyond phenomenal and totally obliterated Hwasin. That was Medusa 1.0; OK, but still).
I will miss the defiler too because its spells are great, especially PLAGUUUUUUUUUUU.
Scourge. I wont mind the defiler being gone that much, not having to rely on dark swarm to compete with the other races late game will be fun. wont mind a more mobile army either. having good scourge control is just such a great way of stopping drops, for the race that is most vulnerable to it, with low hp buildings and units with no dual static anti air/ground defense. Scourge interception requires multitask and map awareness, sexy cloning and general awesomeness. Removing it is stupid, watch it being brought back in first patch.
I voted vulture...reavers are mad exciting yes, but you see them less often. Speed-vulture harass and spider mines are two of SC's most entertaining dynamics.
My rea-vers bring the commentators to the yard and they're like, "RE-VUH RE-VUH!" damn right, ur scvs are gone I can show you again, but my reaver has to charge..
Self-explainatory, reavers make protoss players famous.
I voted Firebat! I feel sorry for it because it's not used very much, and I like the attack it has. Plus it's the sole reason for the ID of a certain ceremonious progamer. XD
Reavers are fine, too, though I just love the automatic unit cloaking and especially recall of the arbiter. Come on, what could possibly be better than just have your army appear out of nowhere (well ok, there must be an arbiter, but still) in the enemy base(s)?
The reaver by a long shot. Nothing makes me more anxious than reaver scarabs. The unit is cool. The animation is cool. It's replacement lacks everything the original had. Hell, the ammunition on the original alone is more interesting than the walking tin can piece of crap taking its place.
