Developer Comment: We have been reading a lot of feedback on Tyrande and have heard overwhelming requests to give her substantial buffs. While we would love to do so, our internal data shows her rework win rate is sitting within 1% of her pre-rework values (.8% higher at high-level play and .1% lower at medium/low levels). The rework was focused on lowering the power of her healing while greatly strengthening her utility and damage output. Our data is showing that we are meeting those goals but realize that a lot of players are still attempting to solo-support with her. We are actively aware of the Support role-perception issue, especially since it transcends just Tyrande, and are exploring a lot of different options to help alleviate the frustrations.

Trying to Decide if i should buy Stukov, or wait till hes 5,000 cheaper. Have plenty of gold but all the stim packs I accumulated from Heroes 2.0 launch expired the other day. So gold wont be as easy to come by. Always have a hard time justifying getting the new heroes at launch, given the long ques too.
Also Quick question. I just bought a new computer, and my old one could only play on the lowest of the low graphics. Though just played on Tomb of the spider queen, and it looked crazy. It looked like it was illuminated by moonlight. Has it always been this way? ...cause i never got that impression when viewing that map on stream.

Usually I wait at least a day or two even if I am going to buy early just to get other people's opinions on the hero and see the early win rates. If the hero is too weak it's obviously not worth it, and even if the hero is strong it is often banned and the queue times to level the hero can be really long. But if you have excess gold and really love the concept then it can still be worth it.
Not sure on the graphics question, many players play on low graphics even when their computer can handle it to reduce visual clutter.

Now I realize why no one ever took locust swarm, even when facing 4 melees. They just wanted it buffed so noobs instant explode and learn to not clump around self aoe heroes ! That was a nooble sacrifice !

Played a QM game last night against this lineup: Xul, Kaelthas, Chromie, Guldan, Stukov. The AoE synergy was way too much for my team's composition. Xul was rather beastly on the front line, but that is perhaps because there was so much zoning and burst damage behind him. I haven't played the new Xul myself, but I will def play a few games with him.
|
Played him only 1 game, but from watching PTR vods and few other games, I would say that he is much better than before. At least now he has quite a few talent options and isn't forced to split push build. Can't speak about how good or bad he is, but his design is in my opinion much better. He is nowhere limited as before.
|
Stukov is fun. Once you get the 7 talent where you can get your trait cooldown down to 5 seconds if you hit one enemy hero with your W, you can really start pushing healing numbers. Shove isn't that bad of an ult, can really punish someone overextending and is only on a 20 second cooldown versus 80 for the other ult.
He can get blown up rather easily though and if his trait is on cooldown you're not very likely to save someone from being focused. Need to play more games with him but QM is being a bitch and gave me three horrid comps in a row.
|
I think Stukov is absolutely shit without any burst heal/healing ult. And as an off-support Auriel/Tass seem to outdo him.
|
Lurking arm is so damn good especially after some talents.

He can be awesome against sustain damage comps, and with Uther or Tyrael complimenting him, then?
How is his sustain heal against malf, morales, LiLi, Karazim and Lucio?
|
His sustain heal is quite decent, especially if you get the refresh talent at 16. Even more so if you can reliably land a single W on an enemy hero with the level 7 talent, reducing your detonate cooldown to just 5 seconds. I often just Q myself and then walk towards my teammates so they all get the heal (unless a hero really needs the heal first). If an enemy hero is in range I throw a W on them and just detonate the heal, healing the whole team and keeping my detonate on just 5 seconds. Without detonate he doesn't have that much saving capacity though, other than his ultimate. No cleanse can be an issue as well though there is a talent that gives 50 armor if the target is stunned whilst the heal is on them.
|
I think if you have a pokey team that doesn't have to worry about hard engages/blowups (which is, in fairness, rare) he can be really strong as in just a few seconds you can have your whole team back up to near full. But the lack of cleanse and saving potential makes him susceptible to a fair few counters.

I hope the patch notes are just a typo and they correctly spelled Trang'Oul in the game... New level 7 talent in the OP says "Trag", and that would make me sad as someone who loved the D2 Necro. I'm excited to try the new Xul out, as well as Stukov

You're mistaken, it is "Trag".
Here's the description of 'Teeth' from the Diablo II manual:
One of the first gifts of Rathma, this skill allows the Necromancer to summon forth the Den'Trag, or Teeth of the Dragon Trag'Oul. The Necromancers believe that Trag'Oul is the beast on whose back the world lies. In the balance of all things it is thought that Trag'Oul is the fulcrum point. He is the closest thing the cult of Rathma has to a deity and this spell is the manner in which he protects his chosen.
EDIT: It would seem you were not as mistaken as I believed, according to the wiki it was indeed spelled "Trang'Oul" in instances of the game itself. Though since the manual, the novels and the sequel all use "Trag'Oul", it's likely that was the typo instead.

Yeah, I only played the game, and as per your source: "In Diablo II, the Necromancer set, Trang-Oul's Avatar, is the first mention of the dragon. Certain spells draw upon his power." That's the only reference I have to work with, honestly No harm, no foul; thanks for showing me that it's spelled Trag in other Diablo references though!

Tyrande is super super strong. Top hero damage (yes) in every game I see her in currently. Especially 20+, moon flare scales really hart apparently.
|
Isnt she the kind of hero that does alot of damage outside of teamfights but in actual teamfights much less.
|
Saw some discussion about a potential spoiler for the next hero on the Battle.net forums.
Some say it might be Maiev?

I didn't play before 2.0 - Dva, Malthael, Stukov. Are heroes always released so often?

So Garrosh was announced.

dont get to greedy, or they run out of bland midboss characters .

Looks like Thrall with an axe instead of a hammer
|
Huh, neat. I've only played the RTS WarCraft games, and from what little I know of World of WarCraft they mostly seem to just recycle characters from the RTS for expansion bosses - Illidan, Arthas, Deathwing, Grom, Gul'dan - so Garrosh appears to be one of the very few new characters to the MMO to actually have an interesting story behind him.
|

Garrosh is also the base warrior hero in hearthstone. He was supposed to take Thralls place as leader of the horde, but he was disliked enough for Blizzard to axe him heh.
I hope they bring out his Hearthstone traits. Which is armor up and pray to the rng gods to win. My hate for him is unending thanks to Hearthstone.
Dont think they could reuse alot from Thrall, as the models are highly different.

You can tell they wanted to focus on his armor aspect by giving the character model gigantic ass shoulder pads and a dull axe lol.
|
I just hope he yells a lot. He at least needs to outscream Colossus Smash Varian, the Horde is uncharacteristically quiet in Heroes of the Storm.
EDIT: Also, I've mentioned how funny it is that there are four Orcs in the game and none of them are Warriors, so if Garrosh ends up being a melee Assassin, that'll be hilarious.

So close to the All Orc Team... and the All Protoss Team, and the All Terran team, and we're getting nearer to that All Angel team.
I wanna see a tournament with theme-teams.
|
You can have an angel team with Valla, Auriel, Malthael, Tyrael and Diablo using the right skins. And there is an orc skin for Hammer. All Terran team would be Raynor, Tychus, Morales, Hammer and Nova. (or Rexxar with Terran skin)
|
Now that we have Stukov, you can make a full team out of all the StarCraft races.
Terran: Lt. Morales, Nova, Raynor, Sgt. Hammer, Tychus Protoss: Alarak, Artanis, Probius, Tassadar, Zeratul Zerg: Abathur, Dehaka, Kerrigan, Stukov, Zagara
They're not necessarily great teams though .
EDIT: If we get two of Vol'jin, Doomhammer, Ner'zhul or Blackhand, we'll also be able to make an all-Warchief of the Horde team. That position seems to have a lot of turnover .
|
I would love to see a tournament do a funsy match where you have to keep your picks all within one game. Would be pretty funny, though WC at a marked advantage numbers wise
|
If Overwatch gets a support next, they would win all !

I mostly mean a proper functional team that has at least one Tank/Healer, cause sure you can do the Terran team but it hardly feels right with four DPS. I even have a real hard time accepting current Tassadar as a proper support for Protoss, especially considering how he was pre-rework... Doubt Protoss'll be getting any proper supports any time soon, or even at all potentially.
Also I never count skins because I CRAVE authenticity.

Is it just my browser or does the Weekly Heroes Rotation on http://www.teamliquid.net/heroes/ have thumbnails that don't have a matching URL? Malfurion thumbnail is linking to Lunara for example.
EDIT: Posted this in the wrong thread, Stukov patch is still the highlighted thread on the homepage as well? Shouldn't that be Garrosh patch at this point?
