June 15th update + Notes: LiquidDota and LiquidLegends now redirect to TL.net. The general discussion forums for Dota 2 and LiquidLegends should be listed under the "Other Games" block of the left sidebar. Users who can't see these forums can turn them on via the sidebar customization menu.
Stream list and and tournament calendar migration, as well as subforum archiving is currently underway.
When TL.net began as a site for StarCraft fans in 2002, we never imagined how large our community would grow and how diverse its interests would become. With its incredible depth and highly competitive esports scene, Dota 2 was a natural game for TL.net members to explore. As a fan of Dota 2 and the original Dota, it was amazing to see TL.net members carry the spirit of TL’s Brood War articles and discussions over into a new game, growing the forums and news coverage to the degree that Dota 2 fully warranted its own separate website.
While LiquidDota originated on TL.net, over the years it grew to have its own forum culture, its own IRL meetups, its own style of writing, its own sense of community. The LiquidDota staff and community members created some of the highest quality content in the Dota 2 scene, including in-depth player profiles, TI previews, detailed tournament coverage, and high level strategy guides. We’re extremely proud of everything the staff and community have created together, and I believe LiquidDota made a lasting impact on the Dota 2 scene.
Unfortunately, we must announce that as of June 15th, 2022, LiquidDota.com will shut down and be reintegrated into TL.net. Since the site first launched in 2014, the landscape for both Dota 2 and community sites has changed drastically, and activity on LiquidDota has declined as a result. As such, we’ve made the difficult decision to absorb the Dota 2 forums back into TL.net and close LiquidDota as a standalone site.
Dota 2 still holds a dear place in our hearts and this will never change. We picked up our first team in 2013 and have been committed to the game and scene with all of its ups and downs ever since.
We thank all of the community members, writers, editors, artists, moderators, admins, and anyone who ever added an event to the calendar or maintained a live report thread. You were the heart of LiquidDota, and we’re grateful we could be a part of something special together.

Oh well, LD had a good run, it will be missed.
Oh yeah my items rip
The key items and dota 1-5 articles that came out around TI3 (iirc) were really helpful for getting me into the game. Hell, I even wrote a few previews for the last TI (I hoped to write spirit which would have been cool, but never came to fruition). But yeah, the dota community has definitely changed in the past 8 years and it’s visible to everyone that there isn’t much happening around this site anymore. I have some mixed feelings about this since LD is cool, on the other hand will be less confusing with the two accounts since I regularly post on both sites. Catch y’all on the other side anyhow.
I think that a dota forum can have its time in the sun in a few years after the Reddit hype dies down and people come around to how much better linear discussions are.
While I think reintegrating is the right move, I'm still sad to see LiquidDota go. I helped launch this place and run it for a while with heyoka/riptide, and later with Julmust before I eventually burned out. I've had some great memories and also made a few lifelong friends along the way. While this site will no longer exist, the impact it's made on me will remain forever
The writing has been on the wall for this one for quite a while now I think. Sad but very understandable, we have had a good run :/
I will also be forever grateful for having been able to start my esports career here under the watchful eyes of all the veterans. Glad that I was able to play a small part in what made Liquiddota so great in all these years. I will definitely miss this place.
I've never done any posting so this'll be my first one. I've been following TL and Liquiddota from the shadows since -10 and genuinly enjoyed this community way more than any other community i've stumbled upon. Reading comments about patch notes, fan pages, tournament discussions and even checking out new streamers through Liquiddota has sure been entertaining and sent my work efficiency down the drain. But it's all been worth it!
I know that people like me is a part of why this is happening and I am sad that this accout was created 10 years too late. But I still want to give a hugh Thanks and to show my appreciation to the LiquidDota Community and the hours i've spent here.
Hey guys, sorry for not making the forum porting more explicit as it was in the TL.net post. The forums will basically be ported in their entirety to TL.net, and everything should be largely preserved since the two sites run on the same backend.
Very sad but understandable. Many thanks for your continous efforts during the past years. Was always a pleasure to follow the power rankings for Major and TI, the various tournament-threads and team sites.
This is too bad. I reflexively type in this URL like five times a day, still, even if I mostly end up clicking through to liquipedia. My respect and appreciation to those who made this place possible.
LiquidDota has been a quick link on my chrome homepage for years. Mostly lurking but appreciative of all the work and content shared over that time. Thanks for everything!
This is on of the few sites i visit regularly and have done so even these last many month when there was barely any activity. I mostly lurk, but I've made my mark in the prediction tournaments.
Well, i started at TL.net (teamliquid.net) and that is where I'll go back.
Are there any other good websites? I used Liquiddota for a convenient overview of the livestreams and the Sidebar for upcoming tournaments an matches. Now I am in a void, where i don't how to follow everything.

Can you help me?
We can populate the calendar side bar, just there are so many matches and I’m lazy. I use the upcoming matches on liquipedia as a calendar. It would be cool if the calendar could auto populate based on that but it’s not a huge deal. For streams I just go to twitch.
Because I sent a few events in - and currently for The International - I wanted to ask, if we could get some teams added to the matchup selections? Would improve the event quality! But I just checked and not all teams currently at the World Championship are in there. And at least that we should have I think. As I understand the code is ... not that optimized!? :D to add new teams. But maybe we can do something with duct tape
Missing teams for now: BOOM eSports (there is a BOOM ID...) Gaimin Gladiators Soniqs BetBoom Team Talon eSports
