I don't know how or why the admins reached the decision they did, but among the array of issues they've been experiencing with this event so far, I can understand that they were in a hurry to process the bracket as quickly as possible. It's not surprising that something like this could have slipped through the cracks. MLG: where a present SEA player has their manager ignored when his manager asks about a walkover to a player missing for several days, and an NA player gets a walkover rescinded against a SEA player when he shows up late.

Yes, I am positive that that problem here was NA supremacy and not just some misunderstanding by an admin. You need to settle down, if Sundance said that he will look into then he will look into it. The random MLG hate from posters that rarely post in the first place just looks kind of sad honestly.

To be fair this is a post designated to discuss the event and the signal to noise ratio is higher than elsewhere, so I understand that frustration gets vented here by people who may have lurked before or might not have been around TL in the past. Does not excuse those who take it too far, but it is a reasonable place for it I guess. Or an understandable one anyway.

I want to see some kind of policy put into place, and an example made from the jokers who let this slip. Mr.mOOnGLaDe deserves much more, and I will not settle for this "We'll do better next time guys!" garbage. Actions speak louder than words, fix this already.

I would like to speak on behalf of SEA and give a large "Fuck you" (Please excuse the profanity TL, but I feel it's necessary to show my sheer frustration in the matter) to MLG. We will not forget this, you've just lost thousands of supporters, and thousands of dollars. I hold a high position in Southeast Asia, and hold a lot of influence within the scene. This will not end well for you, MLG. as a member of SEA i STRONGLY oppose you speaking on my behalf.

(they get it) We're customers. eSports is about community, and organisations like MLG are very important for us, but they need to do right by the community for us to do right by them. It's a two-way street. If no one tells MLG that this sort of thing is unacceptable, or they tell them that no matter who poorly they treat people we'll still give them all our money, what incentive do they have to remedy it? I stand by my statement, at this stage I will not be purchasing a spring arena pass that I would have purchased had it not been for this incident. MLG's response will determine if this situation changes for me, either for the spring arena or future arenas.

In General I do agree with your sentiment, if it were any other sort of consumer market other than e-sports. MLG has put in MILLIONS of dollars for years now and provided everything (up till winter arena) for free, and now because of 1 slight fuck up in a qualifier so they can qualify for ANOTHER qualifier youre going to completely abandon ship and desregard them? (this isnt really directed at you but you came up with the arguement lol) I think people need to feel a little bit less entitled to get everything and understand what has been done for them up until now and keep that in mind before they go grabbin the pitch forks. Also, telling MLG they screwed up is perfectly fine, so long as its done in the right fashion. Saying "fuck you mlg ya dun goofed never getting your shit again!" is angry and not constructive at all. Accordingly to be fair I don't think any other organisation admits fault like MLG does so its fairly safe to put trust in them. just my $0.02 (yes I am major MLG fanboy)

I think MLG should add to the rules once a Match/Set is started it must be played to conclusion without more than a Toilet Break/Emergency Break unless non-player equipment fails.

Accordingly to be fair I don't think any other organisation admits fault like MLG does so its fairly safe to put trust in them. just my $0.02 (yes I am major MLG fanboy) That kinda reads like MLG is donating millions of dollars to the community out of the goodness of their hearts. I'm sure you can imagine the argument to that, but that's irrelevant to discussion. But anyway, it's not about disregarding the good MLG has done or villainising them completely either. MLG have a product they are selling (spring arena) and they cocked it up with poor admin decisions that totally put an individual out (he sat around for a whole two days before finally finding out he had been walked over on the 3rd). He now can't have his walkover reversed, yet the guy who benefitted from the cock-up gets the walkover decision disadvantageous to him overturned. The enjoyment I got watching any previous MLG championship doesn't make this any more OK. So as a result of the way they have handled production of this product, I won't be buying this product. If they want to sell me similar products in the future, it will require a change. That is not the same as me crying "BOYCOTT MLG!" As for simply trash talking MLG.. I agree enough that I wouldn't personally do it as I don't feel it helps me convey the points I want to make, but for others it's perhaps a way for them to express themselves most appropriately. What MLG have done has made some people really mad. So while personally, I feel it's a poor tactic, I don't feel sorry for MLG having to weather the assault.

Would also just like to point out how much of a baller dox is and how professional he is with everything that he handles in the international and sea e-sports, major props to that guy!!! <3

On Tuesday we were supposed to begin at 5 PM PST. Due to brackets that simply would not work at all, most people had to wait at least 1.5 hours before even starting their matches. Even then, the round two matches were postponed - so we spent about 2.5 hours just to play a single match. The following day was also filled with delays, with people confused about what time matches were and the bracket STILL not working properly. We had to send in replays via email! Incredible waste of time. If it was just for these things I would not be complaining. It is MLG's first qualifier like this and it is understandable that they are having problems, and I think it is awesome that they are doing this. But throughout the tournament the administration proved completely inept and worthless. To top things off, I ended up being forfeited today and my opponent given a walkover, in a COMPLETELY unfair scenario in which MLG_Deimos blatantly lied. I came on to play my match at 5 PM PST, the default time. Again, the day was filled with delays, and my opponent was still playing the previous round's matches, and so I was told to wait. Since I had an ESEA match at the same time, I took the opportunity to get the ESEA match out of the way. It had already been about 30 minutes after I left the first game of the ESEA match, and Sparticus (one of the MLG admins) had messaged me "are you there?" I responded with "is my opponent ready?" to which he did not respond. This was at 16:55ish in my stream. Unfortunately I made the decision to put myself on busy status in my next game. By the time I came out of the 20ish minute game, there were multiple messages about how I had been forfeited due to not being able to be contacted. I messaged Sparticus and was directed to talk to MLG_Deimos, who informed me that I had been unable to be contacted for 30 minutes and so I had been forfeited. I argued that I had not been gone for 30 minutes as I was pretty sure it had not been that long. Then he said I had been unable to be contacted for 45 minutes, and so I had been forfeited. Now I'm not saying that I'm not at fault here either. I should not have put my status as busy, and I should have given Sparticus more time to respond (only gave him about 1 minute before my game began), and I should have asked my ESEA opponent if he could wait. But I cannot help but feel that I was treated completely unfairly, especially from MLG_Deimos who either was not properly informed or just blatantly lied. I had to wait at least 30 minutes for my opponent, and I was given less than 24 minutes (which MLG_Deimos claimed was 45 minutes - which wasn't even CLOSE to the actual time). I don't think it's fair that you wait for one player, and yet don't wait for the other. And I especially don't think it's fair that you disqualify the player who DID have all his matches done on time and WAS online and ready to play at the specified time. Now I know that these tournaments have tight schedules to run, but inconsistent administration like this made this tournament an even more horrendous experience than it already was. If MLG is looking to provide "the user experience that we pride ourselves on with our tournaments," then they have GOT to do a better job than this. In total I spent perhaps 6-7 hours for this tournament to play just THREE matches, and then only to get disqualified. That's not the kind of user experience I would pride myself on. http://www.twitch.tv/superiorwolf/b/314793536 16:50 - received a message from Sparticus 40:40 - finish my game for ESEA 23 minutes and 50 seconds =/= 45 minutes. ---------------- Perhaps not quite as bad as Moonglade's scenario, but it's just as frustrating. Please, MLG, I hope you improve for the next tournament.
