Now that the other thread is 7 pages of flame long i think we need a new one. Post here the reps you thought were really awesome, and, if possible, why, without spoiling anything!
Draco-OOv game 2 @ Gaia. Really great, back and forth game, which is a lot like Dracos legendary game vs Midas. Testie-Midas game 2 @ Gaia. Another great back and forth game on gaia. Zelotito-Reason game 1 @ Paranoid Android. is a really funny one with close ending. thats some pimpest shit yo=D Draco-overdrive game 1@gaia Pretty sweet game, not incredibly special, but considering the fact that overdrive is a "WTF" from uzbekistan it's easy to overlook. Well, don't. Its incredible how much of a challenge for Draco he was. Overdrive-A_gNoc groupstage @ PA 30 minutes of bloodbath. Brace yourself, micro is a luxury. Zergraptor-Phoenix groupstage @Azalea 25 minutes of bloodbath. A bit better micro July-Phoenix game 2@gaia July+Muta=Phoenix lol.

+ Show Spoiler +----- why draco didnt use arbiter to hold off those gOOOLIATHSsss. he could have won this game on gaia just like the game vs midas (nice games btw )... lots of carrier but no arbiter gratz oov gg draco..
Careful with the spoilers please. - ETT

I thought A_ngoc vs. Overdrive[a2] was a GG, as was Zergraptor vs. Phoenix (both in groupstage)

Testie vs Squall (close one) Testie vs Raven (raven must be pretty pissed because he was very close vs White_ra too)

lolllllllll july vs phoenix on gaia is a must see game so funny

This year's wcg is quite the letdown in my opinion ((. Still plenty of decent games of course, mainly outside of group play though -_-''
|
Testie and Draco are really fucking good. props <3

I know its obvious, but how can you not have draco-midas up there?
|
iloveoov vs. lowely pretty much showed the power of OOv, eraser, micro + sexy macro.
|
Angoc vs Stym (group F) - a pretty smart ZvZ strat by ANgoc IMO.

I guess this is an appropriate place to say this...
Was anyone else going WTF as they watched the games Midas was playing? I mean, I haven't seen anywhere near all of the reps yet, but in the ones I'm seeing, he is consistently running up 4 digit minerals and sometimes 4 digit gas and he makes a ton of sloppy decisions. I was uncharacteristically unimpressed by his performance. I've been considering him the most consistent terran of the moment, but what I am seeing in these replays is leaving me wondering how realistic that assessment is. I'm certainly not taking away credit from Draco and Testie (I haven't seen the Testie games yet, but Draco looked really strong in his game; I still think his macro is a bit weak for a progamer toss player, but his decision making is very sharp and very original and his control is never sloppy -- he looks ready for a starleague appearance), but I mean come on, a player who is top 3 Terran in the world shouldn't be losing that many games to foreigners, and even in the games he's winning he looks very "touchable."
Oov's group stage games were monstrous. "How bad can I embarrass these foreigner newbies." I haven't seen any of July's games yet, but it's probably very similar.
Next year I think the foreigner community will be in good shape to take the title. The top Koreans can't guarantee qualifying, especially if WCG uses new maps next year, meanwhile the very top foreigners (Draco and Testie really, can't comment on Lx or PJ or Mondragon right now...) are looking dangerously close to A-class or even (dare I contradict statements I have said in the past, dare I even think it) S-class progamers in skill.
Edit: Let the controversy begin.
Edit 2: The big weakness is Zerg. I don't think any foreigners yet have a *real* answer for S-class Korean Zergs. P and T players are not a problem it would seem.
and while I'm making this edit, yes I am aware that Koreans swept the medals, but they looked quite touchable, and bear in mind that all three of the Koreans are top 10 in Korea, top 10 in the world.

Midas is 11th Kespa, 6th Terran ^^
I still think, even if the Koreans sent their 30th progamer [haha Reach -.-] he would still be favored to win title. And if they sent SaviOr, NaDa, any of the best S-class, the Koreans will almost definitely keep the title.
I do think that there might be a little bit of problem if, during the qualifiers, a mid tier progamer somehow wins. But it's unlikely that out of the 2 or 3 Korean envoys, all will be "only" A-class.
The maps weren't all that great, IMO.

iloveoov's group stage games were just... POWER OVERWHELMING. I mean, WTF, against toss he is 200/200 in about 13 minutes and just rolls over them with like shitload of tanks, insane.
|
hehe, every year people say that koreans are more touchable but every year, koreans take more wcg medals.
like some wise guy said
"you might not see the gap, but the gap is there and its fucking huge."
