Grimaldo is probably the only one people probably doubted too much and Leverkusen got a great player there. Xhaka was immense in his last 2 seasons at Arsenal and is important for Leverkusen too. He deserves way more respect than he gets

Got an unfair amount of stick at times at Arsenal and hell he actually won a lot of the support back by the time he was departing from what I heard

Thing is he got lazy at Arsenal. When Arteta came they had a talk and xhaka lost quite some weight and since then hes been of the best central midfielders in the game. Alonso was the only high profile coach that noticed that

Leverkusen keep their undefeated run alive jesus christ the script writers are going nuts this season. Speaking of script writers, 3-1 FC is finally back. Good bounce back game especially with Klopp making a lot of changes to the lineup.

Also keep their nerves and most likely are physically and mentally stronger than most teams to be able to perform so well in the last minutes of a game. Exactly. The amount of goals they scored after 80+ minutes is insane. Better fitness and keeping their cool. Playing it out till the end Streak still holding! And this in a year where Bundesliga is the strongest league! Farmers league my ass lol

If Inter beat AC Milan they are champions. Whoever wins out of Roma and Bologna takes control of the race for 4th and will have their destiny in their own hands

Yes he has 11g this season and a couple assists more, but is playing with more freedom. But that is besides the point. Point was simple. You said people were sleeping on him, they werent, Benfica wanted money (and so did grimaldo) and considering his defensive issues, no club ever matched the values they wanted. Its not like you have a ton of top europe clubs playing with a back 3 and it obviously makes no sense to build a team around him to warrant changing your system for him.

I still say clubs slept on him. When two of the best teams in the world Liverpool and Leverkusen can play with a defensively liable wing back then other clubs should also be able to.

Is he one of those rare beasts who’s very good as a wing back in a 3/5, but not as a full back in a 4 in your opinion? Robin Gosens springs to mind when he was tearing it up at Atalanta. They’re slightly more common than unicorns but not by much. I don’t know what it is, it’s not a pure defensive/offensive ability thing either, as they don’t tend to be very good wide midfield players either. Maybe just how they tend to be orientated on the pitch that suits their skillset

Could be on pace for 101 points if they win out. Only Lazio at home is their real challenge, otherwise all lower table and relegation teams left for Inter.
