Here is the interview with Nada after his victory in the Shinhan superfight. There are a couple lines that I still need to figure out for the translation; also, I had difficulty in translating some of the lines towards the end. All in all, I'd like to laugh in infinity21's face thank infinity21 for his help and support. He gave me a great link for help with korean vocabulary and in all honesty, I'm grateful for it. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for [Red]Nada.
EDIT: Btw, those ????'s are the lines that I still have to translate. It's not anything wrong with your korean.
EDIT 2: the parts with * are where mrmin123 translated / corrected. Thanks a lot!
[Shinhan Masters] “I will uphold a promise of staying in the long run” Pantech Lee Yeon Yeoul Interview
-After the battle, you shed tears. >It wasn’t that I shed tears. In the previous finals when I did not win, I thought of my mother. At that time, I was sorry towards my family and the fans. It feels as if I paid back my debt with this victory.
-What about today’s strategy? > All of today’s battle strategies were used impromptu, inspired by strategies used in past practice games. It felt like it would work. I believed in myself.
-What of when your battle against Mah Jae Yoon was at hand? >I emptied my emotions. *I told myself that even if I lost I would lose giving my best*. I think I refused to look back on the past because I would become nervous. Emptying my mind before the battle worked. I just thought of Mah Jae Yoon as just a zerg. I did not think inwardly about this return match. This was because of many situations when I thought passionately about vengeance and lost myself. I merely went along with what fate had in store for me.
-What are your thoughts looking back upon last season, and forecasting this year’s standings? >2006 season’s results were good. I couldn’t achieve my 4th victory, but I was constant. I am very satisfied. I think 2007 will be a good year as well.
-As the best player, can you give us a word? >Becoming the best is a difficult path. After that, keeping the status as best is two or three-fold more difficult. If I continue to practice hard, I believe that I will be the best for a long time. I probably cannot keep the promise of upholding my status for life, but I can keep my promise of staying in the long-run.
-Right now, who are you thinking about the most? >I am thinking about my mom. I think she will be happier than anyone else. My mom always said that Mah Jae Yoon was a fearsome one. She warned me to be cautious of him. However, now I can talk with confidence. I will tell her that Mah Jae Yoon is no longer a feared entity.
-What are your goals after today? >I want to dine together with the team members. We will celebrate with meat and wine.
-*Ahn Yeon-Hong (a Korean drama/movie actress) came to watch as well.* >*I am thankful because it seemed like she stayed and cheered on until the very end. I am also thankful because she was not just a fan of me, but a fan of the eSports scene.*
-What was the significance of the ceremony? >It is significant because I represent the champion world-wide. The person from America who sent me a present told me about it.*
Also for this line, this is a bit more of what they were trying to say:
-안연홍씨도 자리를 왔다. ▶끝까지 자리를 지켜 응원해주신 것같아서 감사하다. 저 하나의 팬이 아니라 e스포츠를 좋아하시는 분인 것 같아서 감사하다. = -Ahn Yeon-Hong (a Korean drama/movie actress) came to watch as well. ▶I am thankful because it seemed like she stayed and cheered on until the very end. I am also thankful because she was not just a fan of me, but a fan of the eSports scene.

Since its true that staying as the best requires a lot of dedication.

SLUMP MODE ACTIVATED~~~~~~~~
I wouldn't say so. Nada is, after all, a top tier player and his confidence was shaken in the OSL finals. Savior is still able to dominate most other progamers with relative ease, imo. Also, keep in mind there are so many other factors. Don't try to assume "slump mode" or anything until you observe a player for a certain length of time.
Savior needs to practice especially for shutting down nada. This talk of meeting iris in final really didn't sound like he was all that prepared for a determined nada.
Ah well, it's only once. Savior beat nada dunno how many times already. Their next meeting in Ultimate race will be interesting.

Savior's still a solid player. You can't say he's slumping when he went 4-4 against arguably 2 of the best TvZ-ers in SC.
But then again, this is his cue to go into slump mode. Right after we say he's not slumping...
You can just put a spoiler at the top of the page and tell people not to read any further if they don't want the results spoiled. Or put the entire thing in spoiler tags

"would not" instead of "would"? or Even if I lost I would (still) give my best.
second one is right. Translating from Korean to English can be really weird sometimes. Sentence structures are completely different translated word for word: even if I lost, try everything lose prepared <-- yeah no good
nice interview.... btw. i can't understand people that ask for spoiler tags on the WINNERS INTERVIEW thread.. cmon sense tell you that if is the winner interview you will know WHO won the match.

The thread title was initially "[Interview] NaDa" or something like that. That's why people complained about spoilers.
Like infinity said, it's rather difficult translating Korean to English. Certain phrases in Korean wouldn't even have a really valid translation in English, although the same could be said for English to Korean. Nada was basically saying that even if he lost he would lose playing at the best of his ability and pulling out all the stops; he wouldn't show any second rate playing.
On March 17 2007 14:29 ilovezil wrote: oooooo, thanks mrmin123~ editting now.
EDIT: Wtf...now that I think about it, those should've been easy translations. I can't believe I made such a trivial mistake o_o. I'm so ashamed...
Hm. Just keep practicing. At least you can read to a certain extent. So many Korean Americans cannot read/write. Good work. Translate again some other time~
If Savior starts to lose more regularly, like some kind of back-n-forth starts happening, then I'd say nada's caught on to something. If he starts to lose consistently, then perhaps people have "figured him out."
But as of right now it means nothing. The guy dominated the scene for a whole year and has beaten nada on so many occasions in the past, he loses 1 bo5 and all of a sudden people claim he's fallen? Insanity. If ultimate race doesn't settle this, the next 6 months will.

Who has claimed that Savior has fallen?
What is true is that NaDa has risen. He has shown a better form than he has in the past season and come out to beat Savior, the best zerg in the world. And it wasn't a close win either; it was an impressive rape of who was thought to be unbeatable in a bo5.
This was NaDa in top shape. Savior has shown that he can easily tear apart even Casy, so much for slumping. But this time, NaDa once again proved that he is still a bit faster, a bit smarter, a bit ahead of every move his opponent makes; just like the NaDa we have known for years.
In the last OGN finals, he just couldn't take the last step from being a top level terran to being the genuine tornado terran. And we all know Savior eats top level terrans for breakfast.

...yeah I am very happy NaDa finally beat him.
I liked this description very much. Top level terran vs Tornado terran. Like it's from anime or something -_-.

yes it is like SUPER SAIYAN TERRAN.
well, now sAviOr will either come back with a vengeance to take superfight 5
or he'll keel over and die b/c of the dispiriting performances in recent finals.
On March 19 2007 20:40 sweatpants wrote: Maybe there was some loss in translation or something, but I think NaDa came off pretty arrogant this interview. That asshole.
Nada wasn't being arrogant in the interview, just confident. When Korean translates into English, the connotations are sometimes lost or translated differently because of the unique grammar structures in both korean and English. This time, the korean was more like a blog than a full interview because the style was more "journal" or "diary" style. Needless to say, this doesn't really help situations in translations x_x.

Niceplayer's said it the best.
Nada's apparently figured out a way to finally punish Savior for his money-hungry style (however the bunker killing hatch in game 1 was more like a coin-toss, coulda gone either way, savior could have just very well saved it if he was luckier).
None of the wins were from late-games. I'd really like to see Nada handle Savior if Savior was able to harrass w/ muties (never did in any of these games as he died so fast) & really USED his defilers (not what he merely mustered in game 2).
Savior actually lost 2 bo5's recently but whatever
We have already seen what happens when you let Savior get expos. He will dominate anyone. Nada was just thinking about winning not beating Savior in a long macro game. Savior doesn't show many weaknesses later in the game so you have to be agressive early as shown here, and the games vs iris and bisu.
I found Iris' wins more convincing than Nada's for some reason, as Saviors actually did have his muties but could not do squad because of Iris' vessels, Nada simply avoided dealing with any of that by killing Savior way earlier.
And I'd really like to see Bisu win against Savior if Savior isn't so freaking stubborn about getting a spore at his bases (not discrediting Bisu's wins in anyway, but still... I'd really like to see a toss handling Sav head on, if that's ever at all possible).
