My new website for live OGN/MBC broadcast is currently under development. It's now open for beta testing. If you have trouble accessing the current OGN/MBC links posted on this forum or would like to try out a better interface, please feel free to visit the site.
Please do not spread the link out of this forum at the current stage. Thanks.
P.S. Please note that the site is not accessible from Korea/China due to bandwidth reasons. It's intended for US/European audience.
This website is still under construction. To watch live OGN/MBC broadcasts, please register, then login.
Please note that the broadcasts will only launch with Internet Explorer. There is a guide here to make embedded Windows Media work under Firefox, however it has not been tested on this website.
If you encounter any problems accessing this website, such as unable to launch OGN/MBC streams, please describe your problem in the forum.
P.S. Please do not bother extracting the mms links out of the source codes and post them on various places. They will simply be taken down if abused. The streams are still under development and experiment. They can become unstable at anytime at the current stage.
Good luck and have fun!

Wow, it's nice seeing you around again. And this'll be the fix to the ever-present crying Korean (on the OGN link)!
OGN is currently being broadcasted through my media server and I have no idea how many users it can support. I am working on bringing in the official OGN stream from their server as well, so that those who can access the korean server noramlly do not have to use the US server. Hopefully it will work.
Awesome, I couldn't watch MBC streams because of lag. Double-clicking for full screen works, it's running alongside my torrents, hasn't hitched at all so far, it's great! Oh yeah, cats rule! ^_^
Actually, the MBC stream is from the official server directly. If you have trouble accessing that korean server, then it might eventually not work for you. Good luck.

That's usually due to different buffer sizes due to difference in connection speed/ stability. There's not much you can do about it I believe. 12-13s is acceptable btw, I'm sometimes lagged for 1min behind. -_-
Just one small suggestion to Ilovecats: Is there any way you can do to make the chat text more readable (customizable text color for users for eg)? Now it's a bit hard to read with 5+ people chatting now. That'd be cool. =) Regards.

Or even better, make it connect to the TeamLiquid IRC channel. ?
what the hell are you talking about? I have had to download no additional software or any ActiveX Controls. The only thing I've had to do was register and login.
And as for the effort on the website. I like it. It's simple, straight forward, and not complicating at ALL.
This is really really impressive. Very clean site, nice lay out, easy to use, the streams work smoothly. Just perfect. Let's hope it holds up when more users flock in (I expect it to lag when there are actual games on, the turnout is going to be pretty big, I imagine..)
I'm sure this'll be moved to Recommended Threads as soon as a mod sees this.
Could you perhaps make the chatsound off by default? "Play sound when new message arrives?" And the focus window when message arrives aswell off by default perhaps. otherwise, nice work!
Ok it's arrived finally. But I still got this weir problem: since couple weeks I cannot load MBC on one computer (the one I'm posting this from) but am able to use OGN and on the other one it the other way 'round. I tried checking upon my firewall but nothing seemed unusual.

yep yep, we could get a whole new population/larger population soon
Thank you very much again for the streams; however, do you think it is possible that you get the CJ Media streams for the Superfight with all the Ace matches up when it is played? I would very much like to see it live. If you can't than no worries, just say so and I will understand.

I believe that will be broadcasted from both the CJ media site and on GOM player, so there's no real need for a third source.
The OGN broadcast works for me but when I try the MBC one it says "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct".
I could roughly translate the schedule but it'd take some time. Also someone else (Korean-speaker) could do it better - I don't know the names of some programmes.

That would be nice~~ but where do you find the schedule?
Two things I noticed that are different to most registrations is if you click back after registering the password is still there. And that it only asks for email address once. Minor things clearly, but different from the standard protocol.
Watching it now, I will continue watching indefinitely. This is so fucking good. Though can someone list some common words the commentators will use and their meanings. Romanised please. Then I'd catch what they were saying every now and then.
Hey, is there a current thread open to talk about the games going on in the streams? As an American with no idea how to speak korean, id like to be able to see what some of the announcers say and who the players actually are ^_^.
I feel like an idiot for asking this but... How the heck do I get chat to work.
I tune into a stream and on the left it has a link to the chat software, but that only got me my own code in the end so I could embed it in one of my own webspaces (I'll save it for later ) Other than that, I see no other way to get chat started... A little help for a dumbass?

You need to go to http://www.java.com and download the latest version of Sun Java.
Getting a new error I didn't get yesterday when I try and watch OGN.
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct.
I haven't changed anything so I guess the host did. Anyway, just so you know, can't watch it anymore.
I've got it running here and I'm loving it!! Is this exactly what is playing on the OGN channel in korea 24/7? Because if it is, even the commercials are cool. GG school, I'm never going to turn this off!
Incredible gift to the community. You are amazing. THANK YOU!
Simply no longer connecting for me. I try to run it and I get told to check I'm connected to the internet. I think my university may have blocked it. I'm on their internet and I had it running for about 10 hours straight.
To Kwark: Your university might be blocking certain ports. For security and anti-leech purpose I have no choice but to use different and irregular ports from time to time for the OGN stream. If your university cannot open any ports other than the regular ones (such as regular http ftp mms etc) and you don't have a way to get around it, then sorry it's probably not going to work.
Okey, I was told in the chat today that there is something wrong with WMP11. I uninstalled it and, yeah, it finally works! : D Both MBC stream at sc2.org and the http://www.mbcgame.co.kr/VOD/Live_player.asp# stream. So obviously IE 7 didnt have anything to do with it, at least.
... But I found it quite funny how there is this banner on the start page that recommends WMP11 xD
i just registered. this site is amazing! thanks for your effort and awesome contribution. the site looks nice, streams quickly, and is definitely bookmarked.
hope it stays up! if you were to ever ask for donations i'd be willing to chip in =)

i really really hope we get this back because the Live! streams worked flawlessly for me but the P2P's lag like hell and i have not been able to enjoy much starcraft since the Live! streams were removed.

2nd. The p2p and my computer do not get along at all. The live stream was so awesome.
On August 03 2007 17:58 Manifesto7 wrote: one of the problems was that even people who could use p2p used the direct stream. killing the goose that layed the golden eggs i think.
Yes, the mass people that got on the site, even if they could watch the p2p stream would watch the direct one because it was like 30 seconds faster, and all the people watching the non p2p stream was costing way to much so he removed them. (I think)
How to open SC2.org streams in an external tvants-player as a Firefox/Operauser: Login and go to the page where you normally would watch the OGN/MBC stream. But of course firefox and opera show only the OGN/MBC buttons, but no video.
Then paste the following javascript to your url-bar:
Then a securty dialog pops up asking you to confirm the opening of the tvants link with an external application. Alow this and you can watch the stream.

You can also add this script to your bookmarks.
I'm going to bump this thread solely in order to thank this post from the bottom of my heart <3
i think cats realised that the most of the community were douches where all they did was just take and not give back and that along with dota made him just give up on it.
omg every time I watched a game @ sc2.org, the people in the chatroom were such dbags I eventually couldnt take it anymore and just never went back to chat
I was in the chat the first weeks along with Zelniq and some more people, but people spammed like crazy and the teamliquid irc was a better place to be (along with live reports).
domain sc2.org resolves to 209.11.242.162 for me. btw does YaoYuan work correctly for you? For me it only buffers and does not get enough data to play. sc2.org was the same before the downtime (except during WCG when it worked)
