The other live report thread was 40 pages of people screaming about the stream, so lets start a new one for tonights games. The winners final will take place at around 8pm pacific time (they are a bit behind).
Here are the results so far:

We could hear you and see you everytime mani, they even paused after iris won and you screamed to listen to you, and then tasteless said a shout out to teamliquid.net. You're going to be famous. Also, in this FF article it has the placards http://www.fighterforum.com/news/news_read.asp?cat=ISS&idx=20113
Heard some cheers, though I think it was the one after Iris won? It seemed really difficult to hear anything from the crowd, even when Tasteless specifically asked for some noise. :o
The TL.net + "Thx to shield battery" signs were clearly visible and cool though ahah.
Btw can anyone tell me when the next broadcasted game will happen (from now)?

2 1/2 to 3 hours from now, depending if they stick to the schedule.

Yes I couldn't expect more from someone who admits to not knowing much about sc. She did a very good job at deferring to tasteless and taking advantage of his knowledge, while asking about appropriate concepts that "we" take for granted but perhaps the majority of the audience does not.
Sorry for this possibly dumb question, but were the only broadcasted games Iris vs Yellow and this upcoming winner brackets final? Been searching all the blizzcon threads and perhaps I missed it somewhere.

Blizzard could've spent more time planning out and setting up the tournaments. SO many problems here and there kinda just turned me off a little. I'm not sure if it's Blizzard or GIGA, but whoever is in charge of the technical setup with everything didn't really plan out like they should've.
at any rate...i noticed that their level of game is not as high as those in OSL...Savior's muta micro is definitely not up there...not the perfect Savior that I know
the game is still going??? wow........ and yes i hate the damn cinematics........... so much....... giga is the worst ever they should have done blizzcon in korea......

i stayed awake till 6am this morning, watches shitty wc3 now to see the first half of the first match iris vs savior? im fuckin pissed, go to bed now - damn i hate shitty giga
All I fucking get is trailers repeating ad infinitum. Tasteless didn't you cut a deal with them agreeing to cast WC3 if they did this? Time to get on their ass man.

I honestly can't believe it. The matches I was really psyched up about seeing, that is Nal_rA vs sAviOr which wasn't shown, and sAviOr vs Iris which was plagued with this utter bullshit; and I sat up to 5:30 AM.
Blizzard better make up for this by giving us all the videos they have of the event and in the event in super high resolution for free and then let us all play sc2 on Bnet $#$(&(@&($@$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, it's just disappointing when they told you one thing and you expect it... no fans would haven been turned down (and got mad because of it) if there wasn't a stream since the beginning instead of half a stream...

No they wownt be redeemed. I want a fucking apology to say the very least. That was total bs. I sat through hours of shitty wow and wc3 (with shitty commentators, for that matter, and that retarded sad excuse for a comedian) to have the main event shut down in the middle of an intense game. edit: FUCK YOU GIGA

They must now provide free live coverage of next season Proleague, while paying Tasteless per hour, and airing "We're Sorry" ads instead of commercials. Then in 1 year time they will be forgiven... maybe.

well mani for what its worth, you and tasteless made a great commentary team, really complemented each other well. you gave the insight, tactical info, and tasteless kept it interesting and exciting. (tasteless has really improved a lot, btw). i have no idea how you didn't crack up halfway during the match though haha, tasteless was going mad.
everyone in #teamliquid was really proud of you and tl.net. (i assume that's what the mass flood caps lock messages meant). the easy button, the shouting before the iris vs yellow game, the commentary, the shoutout from yellow all made my day. by the way, who hooked you up for the commentary spot?
today was an epic win to be celebrated by us all. thanks for making it happen.
Just so everyone knows, they stopped streaming at 9 because thats how long the event was supposed to go for. If it wasn't for the warcraft matches taking too much time OR if giga wasn't such a shitty service this wouldn't have happened...
Thanks a lot for the nice words. It blows that the stream died, it is really disappointing. Tasteless is great, he is really getting better at what he does and is a force behind the mic. Hopefully there will be video released (although it isnt as great to watch after the results are known).
Yea, so tasteless asked you what savior's next move would be and you said he needs lurkers to stop the push, then he checks savior's base and there are the lurkers right there about to hatch....I was thinking "wow these guys are doing a great job commenting" then the stream died
He didn't work too well with bunny, although it seemed he had good insight on wc3. Due to not being compatible with bunny and not being able to actually commentate because the players could hear them, we can't really gauge him well.

I couldnt agree more with dementus. The video with the cheerfuls, the ez button, the casting, the board, the shouting. Everything was awesome. Created an awesome hype enviroment and it was a great thing to watch. The other games werent that bad. Theres was this comedian guy who wasnt good but fun to watch. Too bad the stream died, but you were giving and awesome casting. I could hear your laugh almost coming out when tasteless started screaming :D

i for one can guage him pretty well. this might be harsh, but if you're commentating in english and it isn't your 1st language or you're not completely fluent then your comentating is likely to suck. personally he didn't do anything for me and in reality the only reason he was commentating is because he works at giga, not because he's a good english caster.
wtf at korean guy speaking EXTRA LOUD on the first english vod :/ (at least, didn't watch the rest yet)
it just fucks up half of the first game's pre-match commentary at least
edit: i guess the original vod didn't have them but the DCInside guy added some comments of his own -_- edit2: k he just talks during the whole game :/
On August 04 2007 05:10 ZergZoul wrote: Can someone explain about "the easy button", I didn't get it -_-
mani gave savior a gameshow like button that says "that was easy" when you hit it. it's a red button with "easy" written on it. after savior won the finals he apparently used it in his ceremony, as many requested. i reaaaaaaaaaally hope we can get a hold of this video (if in fact it happened )
By the way, the 2-1 result for Savior vs. Iris came unexpectedly quick, did he rush him with Zerglings 2 times after he lost the first game? Or what...

No one said he did, except VioleTAK but I think it was a joke or at least a mistake.
theres no way manifesto gets credit for the original easy button
the history goes as such:
1. i brought easy button for savior as a "joke" ceremony prop for him 2. the other pros, despite each receiving cheerfuls, look a bit sad that they didn't get one (especially ra, who was like "wheres mine") 3. nal_ra promises that if he gets one he will use it on TV 3. mani, upon hearing this, immediately buys some for the other pros
what's hilarious is that i think Xellos' button was defective or something, so not only did he get a cheerful he hated but the button he got didn't work
savior was playing with his for a solid twenty minutes, but i really don't think he'll use it in a ceremony, it's not his style. it'd be awesome but there's no way he's going to disrespect a teammate or whatever with it.

2nd game, Iris went 14 CC, Savior did 9 pool after OL... yea
3rd game, Iris made 2 proxy barracks in the middle of the map, Savior immediately scouted and went 9 pool speedling. Iris decided he didn't want to attack and floated his 2 barracks back, Savior caught Iris off guard while Iris still had his rax floating and killed all the marines w/ his speedlings.
Iris vs Ra was insane... but man game 1 from Savior vs Ra was so intense. And I had great seats in the middle with some abnormally large man sitting front of me who kept bending over to reveal his love handles to me. That game was still great.
I'm watching the games now. A good commentator that speaks english makes such a difference. The tone of voice and excitement help get me and help get any other watchers into the game and hyped and cheering. It's so amazing and adrenaline pumping.
Does anyone have videos of the finals match between nal_ra/savior? Preferably english and preferably a straight rip of what was broadcasted on screen at blizzcon

are there any more vods of the stream that was on giga today? all i have are the day 1 games that yakii directed us to and the loser bracket finals on the tracker.
Tasteless: "He must be very careful now, Bunny..."
Something about this line just cracked me up. It sounded like something straight out of James Bond
p.s. I know some people are probably going to complain about the fact that there was this less-informed girl doing the commentary for the final with Tasteless instead of Mani and I was a bit disappointed at first too. But on the bright side having a commentator who has less game knowledge is going to help make it accessible to the general public so is probably good for the game. And she's a bit more hawt than Mani
I got the feeling Nal_Ra was giving the game away after his awesome reaverdrops and proberapes, he piled up so many little advantages and then just decided to sit back in his base, while Savior went into macro overdrive unchecked for a while

Savior expanded ingeniously in the Middle exp above the ramp that should've been Nal_rA's. That expansion serves two purposes: that exp is showing who will control the middle, who will control the fastest and fairest air passage, and also with it, savior can safely divide Nal_rA's bases into two halves meaning Savior can out run Nal_rA's expansions by using zergs ever-so-fast mobility. Nal_rA having so much control from the start to middle then lost his mobility by giving up the center. Both players fully understanding what the center exp meant in the game flow gave their fullest attack and defense that only Godly players are capable of. The center fight was the perhaps one of the most intense battle I've seen lately.
rA could've easily done more damage with his reavers, he left before he killed Savior's nat hatch or main hatch. His reavers were almost untouchable in those little corners that he had, and really didn't have to leave. After those drops he was still at an advantage but seemed to become a little worried about attacks and used his reavers to defend instead of continuing to fly around.
On August 05 2007 11:29 tomatriedes wrote: ps how the fuck did Savior win that game 1???
If you notice, despite rA getting great positioning on those drops behind the minerals and killing lots of hydras/lings, he didn't kill very many drones if any at all. Savior did a really good job of preserving his workers and thus his economy despite those drops. By doing so, Savior's economy never got slowed much, if at all, and so what seemed like great drops by rA actually netted relatively small amounts of damage to Savior.
i tried watching the replays but i think the savior vs iris game 1 is messed up. savior just was afk for like, 5 minutes or something. is anyone else having this problem?
