Tossgirl was given 5 picks. If all five picks refused, she would just get the prize money. The first four picks refused, but the last, Jju, accepted the challenge.
Tossgirl and Jju once were teammates at Soul, where they played each other sometimes.
In an interview, Tossgirl thanked Jju for accepting the challenge, and praised her future opponent, mentioning how he recently made it to the final four of the recent MSL.
In other news, the maps for Nada - Savior will be: Arcadia II Arkanoid Blitz Tau Cross Arcadia II
Nada removed Longinus and Savior removed New Peaks of Baekdu from the map pool.
Good luck to Tossgirl and Jju. Hope their matches are good. Their maps: Tau Cross Longinus Blitz
First four opponents refused ? How stupid can that be ? I mean, what were the reasons behind these refusals ? Is it because they don't think Tossgirl is a worthy opponent or something ?
FiFo has no word on the other four. No names are being named.
I presume they didn't accept the challenge, because it's sort of a lose-lose. You beat Tossgirl, that's expected, nothing spectacular. All you did was beat a lady on the big stage. The winner would almost come off as a bully.
... You lose, and your career and reputation are truly fucked.

Obviously, that is correct.
Their skill level is better than Tossgirl, no doubt. And it is not that impressive to be fighting a girl (who isn't even a progamer). And there is obviously tension from the whole thing as well, since Tossgirl has enough skill to win games with a stroke of luck... which would be a huge embarrassment for the male progamer, to lose to a mere girl.
To lose on national television to a non-progamer girl would be the ultimate slap in the face. You are EXPECTED to beat Tossgirl.
It's like the classic story of elephant vs chicken (Korean folktale). The chicken asks for a match from the elephant. The elephant should not want to fight with the chicken, since there is an obvious gap in power. The elephant is expected to win, and in turn, not boast after his victory, because to boast about something so insignificant is shameful. If the chicken somehow manages to win, the elephant is lower than dirt.
Yeah OK, I can understand that, but... there are other ways than "winning and be a bully", like splitting money in half with the girl. I'm sure there could have been some arrangements. Anyway, it's the chance for us to see JJu's reputation ruined !

probably didnt want to run the risk of getting owned by a female progamer lol

Why would he split his money with Tossgirl?????
You don't see NaDa splitting his 20,000,000\\ with AnyTime, just because AnyTime only received less than HALF of what NaDa got. Whatever. Yell0w lost to Tossgirl, he turned out fine.
JJu and Tossgirl know each other pretty well. That means it will be a fun match, but JJu will win, I'm sure. His level of play is too high, even better than Yell0w's currently. And if Yell0w crushed her easily, then it will be more easy for Jju.

I'm not talking of an OSL here, this is completely unrelated. I said he could split the money so he doesn't look like a bully. Plus, the fact they know each other well would make it look like an act of friendship more than pity or something. See it a bit like when the winner takes his whole team to restaurant, if you prefer.

I see it as the same thing, if money is involved. Nal_rA and Xell0s are friends, but Ra doesn't share his prize money with Xell0s, even though he eliminated him from MSL.
Sure, he could take her out to dinner, that's fine, but that's purely on his personal whim, unrelated to everything else. He isn't a bully. He is doing Tossgirl (and male progamers) a favor by being her opponent. He's putting his pride on the line for a "friend." Whether he wins or loses, I think Tossgirl owes him, since he made the sacrifice.
Haha I defintely don't see it that way, but I guess it's more a cultural problem than anything else. I don't see it as a sacrifice or something where one's pride is on the line but I guess that's because I'm French and not Korean
First Post here, been reading since ages. Love TL.net Anyway, i hope this will be a great superfight! Definitly lookin forward to this.

Im asian too and understand the point of view. But cmon! Is that the profesional e-sport message they should spread out?
"If you loose to a non-pro girl you are HUMILIATED!!". lol cmon. If you dont have the confidence as a pro to fight a non pro girl (as if there's a difference but whatever) dont even think about reaching a final in any major league soon. When time teached us one thing than this: You can loose a thousand times, but if you win afterwards, noone cares about your losses.
Fight her, beat her, bone her and give us some pics. End of story.

One way around the Tossgirl "dilemma" is for the accepting challengee to go for an obvious gimmick build/strat, so that it's fairer and it won't be so bad if they do lose. Then again that could be seen as insulting to Tossgirl.
WTf are you people talking about, lose lose situation? Last time the prize money was 10000$ wasn't it? if it's the same this time I'd think at least some progamers would be willing to risk their reputation (stupidest thing I've ever heard of, crazy korean mentality) for it.

Welcome to Tl.Net! The way I came to be a TL member was that there was a live interview with Canata from none other than us ordinary people, so I was like ZOMG!! GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY!!.
Unfortunately...I made my account something like a day too late...

But interesting stuff to see on the subject, I expected as much from Korean culture tbh. In Holland with the cocky women we got she'd prolly get rinsed and noone would even think a sec about being a bully haha.
Ahh the wonder of cultural differences. Shamely I think yours is by far richer, or at least differentiated in a more desirable direction imho.

They were afraid the audience would see them having an errection while playing.
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people. Hahaha just kidding.
That's actually a good question. Superfight #2 with NaDa vs Reach was on the 11/10 (the day before Pocky Day). I assume the 12/06 Superfight #3 will be around 12/10, maybe?
By the way, does anyone know why Tossgirl didn't play in the last Superfight? I scanned that thread, but I didn't see anything as to why.
she was never scheduled to play in superfight 2. when the first announcement of subsequent superfights was made, the nada reach superfight 2, as well as a superfight 3 was announced (this was the one for tossgirl from the very start if you read the original thread)
So no, there's no reason why she didnt play. She wasnt supposed to in the first place.
yellow is so cool. He seems to always be in a good mood. =)
I really like this guy ^^
TossGirl pretty good. Shame that she seems to lose a lot of units needlessly. Like those marines vs sunkens, or on swarm, or to some lurkers near exp... All silly losses. Hope she gives nice games on Superfight
oh man... this is gunna be an interesting siperfight to say the least. Tossgirl has some skills so she definitely won;t make a fool of herself. I'm pretty sure Jju will try his best to handle her with superior tactics and micro management rather than just being an all out feind and taking whole maps and humiliating her.
Actually from what I saw TossGirl was rather sloppy in her micro. She always left her tanks to dry and it seemed like whenever she moved out with a group of tanks they would end up doing like no damage.
