EVER 2007 OnGameNet Starleague - Grand Finals 18:00 KST - Saturday, December 22, 2007Jaedong Jaedong has made a living from crushing Terrans and Zergs ever since he became a progamer in March 2006. Now he has a coin flip of a chance to complete his journey down the Royal Road and beat Stork to become the EVER 07 Starleague Champion. His arena has been prepared and all that remains for him is to decorate it with blood. Although JD is a monster himself, his opponent is sure to be high on anyone's list of people they don't want to have to face. So far, in this calendar year alone, Stork has played over 100 games at a winning percentage of 69.37% with a staggering 77 wins. Luckily, 62 of them won't count here. As only 15 of his wins are in the ZvP matchup. Statistics, intelligence and common sense all suggest that Stork has an undeniable advantage and will be a favourite to win this final. Stork is probably considered more deserving as well, if you take into account the unbelievable year that he's had so far. However, nothing is decided until the games are played. So watch carefully and trust in the Legend Killer. A beast of the Zerg, that has already become a legend himself. That chart looks so awesome, so zergy. Anyways, Jaedong better have some good strategies planned out, and he'd better hope that Stork doesn't play bisu's style. Maybe he'll tech to Hive on Persona this time?
EDIT: What advantage? 50% in PvZ, losing to player like Rock, there's no proof that he's that good, only the hope that he can turn his wins in ZvT/ZvZ into ZvP wins as well, unfortunately he's already lost to Stork. If anything he's the underdog at the moment.

I voted for Jaedong and I guess i want him to win but I dont really see it happening for some reason. Even with storks not-amazing PvZ, Jaedongs ZvP still seems worse
|
Jaedong's play is really zergy. It'll be tough for Stork to overcome.

They played the 3rd place game first I think, and Stork played Bisu last week, while Jaedong had already beaten Up.

I really don't see Stork as a favorite in this. Hope to see Jaedong bust out some sexy builds and crush Stork's macro style

I can already hear the loud-mouthed and annoying among you saying, “But that’s 38 straight wins! That seems like a lot!” Well, the terms “seems” and “a lot” are wholly unscientific by definition, meaning that they have no place in a serious, scientific article such as this one. So all you’ve really said is, “But that’s 38 straight wins!” And indeed, it is. But it doesn’t have to be.
Go to Korea (South)
Go 12-6 in the Courage League.
Go 6-3 in the PSL.
Go 2-1 in the OSC.
Go 2-1 in the ODT.
Go 10-6 in the OSL. By following the above-outlined method, anyone can win the OSL with a mere 65.31% winning percentage. Get a solid D average and you’re a champion!
But all this research begs the question: because my easy-to-follow steps were not published until just now, who is going to win the current OSL? The answer lies in the percentage. Only one player in the current OSL has a winning percentage above 65.31%, and that player is Jaedong. So who’s going to win the current OSL? Jaedong. You can’t argue with science.

and to think, if jaedong's ZvP really was that terrible, he wouldn't even be close to where he is right now. (referring to Jaehoon in Offline Prelims)

Hurh? Stork has a 69% win percentage this year, 70 percent in the last 6 months.

That quote was written back in the start of november when Jaedong's career percentage was 65.31% (now 64.35%) and Stork's career percentage was only 59.90% (now 61.67%)

why is there no finals thread at all? i love stork and jaedong, whoever wins i'm hapy, whoever loses i'm sad
JaeDong, Zerg ZvT monster, ZvZ gosu and ZvP meh. not as old as stork, but i really think after all this time stork needs his gold. Jaedong has plenty of time ahead of him.
|
It's pretty obvious that most people aren't as excited for this final. But had the finals been Jaedong vs Bisu, or even Stork vs Bisu, I'm sure the hype would go crazy in comparison to this.

Stork doesn't need a hype thread. Stork was so confident that he said he was only going to practice for 2-3 days in preparation for this final.

The quality of the players is high, but it's defiantly the wrong matchup for either of them.
|
c'mon Jaedong lets do this!

I think Jaedong vs Bisu no one would have really cared about because Bisu would embarrass Jaedong. :/
(Except me because I'd laugh so hard hahahaha).

I'm not sure if it's sarcasm but didn't he mean in the interview that players do not gain anything by practising more than 2-3 days for a match when they pointed out that Jaedong have had longer time to prepare?
Well, I guess it's practically the same thing. This Stork man does actually have some balls if he prepares as little as he say he is... After all, it is the final.

Jaedong is gonna show the monster he is today no doubt about it. New Jaedong era begins today boys.

AHAHAHA! My Daum doesn't artificially limit to 800kbps like I thought when watching 1600kbps streams...it limits to 50% the bandwidth of whatever the stream is...so I can't watch any stream no matter how low the bandwidth. Seems like someone doesn't know how to program who wrote this.
