On Thursday night, Korea's two powerhouses, eSTRO (solo, termi, bail, hee, ari) played against Lunatic-hai (okju, glow, cliper, enemy, mal) to determine who would advance to the finals of the FPSKorea CS Online competition.
The map rotation was; de_inferno de_dust2 de_train.

Gotfrag is the main US news source, although its forums are awful and it's mostly about news coverage/demo access. SK has a great website as well.

Hmm GTR-2-Go, do you think it's possible to get the demo's of the games?
Or the HLTV recordings?
that'd be really nice. :D

so Lunatic-hai won right? It looks like they have more wins but I don't understand the scoring!
|
I think it goes by map, similar to pro SC
The wins each round are analogous to gaining advantage in a game in that they don't win it, but bring you closer to winning. 15 rounds are played as CT and 15 are then as T, I think the number of wins won in total decides who takes the map (match, I think it's called) If there's a tie it goes into over time, as seen.

I have VOD's but Kennigit wouldn't let me use the nevake account to upload them on (I don't know the PW too).

is this version 1.6 or source?

It's CS 1.6 and I agree that the CS community sucks since there are a lot of hackers and immature players. To me, CS is only fun when you play on LAN since everyone is legit most of the time and the registration is godly with rates locked. So you don't have to worry about people playing with ex_interp 0.1 or default rates. I still play CS now and then with friends, but the game gets boring fast for me since I am pretty much done with competitive CS and I really regret quitting SC for CS...
Oh, do you live in the U.S. GTR-2? We should scrim sometimes.

I'm totally late on this - but I was lucky enough to be at the MSL prelims doing my photography stuff when they also did the CS between Lunatic-hai and eSTRO - it was my first FPS event (I've been dying to go to one for months.) and I sat in the audience for the first time since April 2008.
I couldn't help taking a few photos though; It was a fun series of games aside from 30 minutes of boredom during a server problem and almost an hour of setbacks due to some questions about the legitimacy of Lunatic-hai's play. I definitely want to cover it again as soon as possible.

It was regarding the Lunatic-Hai team using flash bangs/bombs and exploiting a bug in the map as far as I'm aware. It took forever to clear up -_-; I was so bored, but the remaining matches made up for the wait.

taping: ogn attached mics to enemy (lunatic) and solo (estro) to record what they were saying on the actual in-game mic
controversy: oh, silent planting/flash bug is gay. i'm happy that lunatic still won though.

|

I was sad for eSTRO, but it was still awesome to get to see two teams like that going at it. I can't wait to see more. The match I went to was on during the MSL prelims - so I think it was a Thursday night - but I know it's usually Sudden Attack Master League played at Yongsan on a Thursday. Finding out the schedules is harder than for SC so I'm going to keep track of it by asking my co-worker - he is the eSTRO team's manager

Do the CS team practice in the same house as the Starcraft team? Or maybe it isn't built up in the same way at all. :o

I actually asked their manager this - they have their own separate apartment in Seoul. He said jokingly that they're too loud to be in the same house as the SC players

Their manager is Daniel Lee right? I witnessed him watching them when they were project_kr at CPL 2006

eSTRO's CS manager is someone else and he can speak English sort of. He can't speak it fluently since he has to think and take his time to talk in English.
