2v2's never seemed to catch on and I'm grateful this event happened since it showcased the intense back and forth we see from 1v1's can be seen in that format.

Maybe I would be interested in seeing it in Stormgate if thats a thing but I feel like in StarCraft 2 1v1 is my bread and butter. funnily enough I used the term "bread and butter" referring to 1v1 in my previous post then reworded it, some hive mind shit. I mean, not wrong.

i will say following 4 players at once at the pace of sc2 can be quite stressful though

2v2 format is much better suited for the game like WAR3, it's slower, more micro-oriented, plus we have more possible matchups and it produces very interesting series frequently

Couldn't disagree more. Whenever this has happened (old Proleague in BW, most recent Nation Wars), 2v2 felt like a distraction from the 1v1 that people were primarily there to see. I think forcing 2v2 into 1v1 events is what makes them seem "wacky," while standalone events with meaningful prizes is what helps them gain "legitimacy."

Have the Ace Match as 2v2, now that would be more "fun".

Makes me curious how maps with no shared(ish) bases would fair, something like Nautilus. No doubt the ability for 2 players to gang up on 1 could get out of control, but regardless I'd like to see it tested.
