No kidding! It amazes me that companies/orgs put up big money to sponsor these tournaments but don't get a solid commitment on how their company will be promoted. At a minimum, link to their home page...

Just checked out the Matcherino and saw some awesome dude just put additional 15k bucks in the pool? Or is this part of the "normal" pool? I'm very confused
Some info on the sponsor: it's a Chinese betting site that's had some previous activity in esports (dota2, sponsoring BSG)
According to TheOneAboveU there's no reason for concern, as it's like any other betting site that sponsors a variety of traditional or electronic sports (unless you're someone who just has a blanket distrust of gambling).
THank you so much AlphaX. Keeping StarCraft alive! Only thing i don't get is how can you give the same amount of qualifierr spots to EU and NA region when EU is vastly superior. I wouldn't mind 2 spots for NA and 4 for EU making it 6 EU players including Reynor and Serral...

EU players can play in the NA qualifiers and vice versa, meaning we could have 0 NA players and 8 EU.

If the ESL weekly is any indication, this is exactly what will happen

Korea isn't exactly a Zerg haven. Dark cba to play in events like this, Rogue is invited. I'll also give DRG a pass (and Solar one for forfeiting LB) since they play Code S tomorrow.

This strategy didnt work out for Parting much...He lost to Firefly and Billowy wtf is going on with him
Great move by Maru to wait with that interference matrix until the disruptor was out and shot the nova (although there was a colossus already). He would have won anyway but still cool to see

2 NA players in the ro16 in the NA qualifiers. Mid tier koreans dominating EU qualifiers is a tragedy but mid tier EU players doing it to NA is fine is seems.

I mean he got a little bit of a lucky bracket i think, but he looked pretty good vs neebs NA moves.
Ha ye was a bit sarcastic, doubt anybody expected him to qualify. Was pretty big the super battery mined just about 400 minerals so he could expand elsehwere. Would be interested what would of happened otherwise. Neeb still would of lost nearly everything against the 1 voidray. Maybe if he got a 3rd stalker out he would win I guess
MaSa vs Nice game 2 is real similar to Clem vs Gerald from last month. The terran spots the proxy void rays and then loses due to committing hard to shutting it down.
Clem not qualifying in the first qualie with a double elim bracket is a solid surprise. No shame in losing to uThermal and Showtime who are 2 opponents who have bested the Frenchman multiple times this year. Looks like it will be a rematch of Neeb v uThermal, kinda unlucky for the Dutchman with Mana somehow winning that upper bracket match
Thats gotta hurt for uthermal, completely outplayed and outmultitasked nice all game to die to a few ruptor shots right when he wanted to finish the deal. Must be hard with ping, but ofc it shouldnt happen none the less
Really doubt anybody predicted Nice to advance. He managed to beat Elazer, Neeb, Namshar, which is a pretty sick run. Not to mention he beat Masa twice, who beat Drogo. Insane!
Wow, Mana and Nice qualifying in the first round, that was unexpected.

Well with only a handfull of Na* Pros signing up, this would have been a realy sad qualifier, if it would have been Region locker to NA only. *Na pro players: Cham, Future, Masa, Neeb, Nina, (Kelazhur, Namshar)

Are you looking at liquipedia? The bracket is larger than that, it's just cut off to better fit the page is is usually done with larger open tournaments

Oh you meant Ro16 in the Qualifiers? The official breaket is allways on the sidebar on liquipedia, most of the time a challonge link, wher you can see the entire breaket, seeding and so on.

I don't think he could have ever killed the army anyway with Trap at the helm but god was that ever beautiful Zerg army control if you're a Protoss.
Yeah idk feel like zergs are not at the point where they know how to play vs the blink disruptor coloss armies rn and need some time to catch up in the meta, but control like this certainly doesnt help (also not the first time solar looked completely inept at anti disruptor micro.

I was also a big fan of blowing up 20 banelings on a gateway that didn't wall anything.

I like how twich chat is praising Byuns lategame micro, while he loses Liberators to spores and 10+ Marines get cleaned up by 4 Banes, because they just stand there and wait for their death Earlygame controll is insane though

I thiiiink if uThermal can beat Neeb he ought to be able to beat Geralt, and I'd love to see him in the main event.
Happy uthermal qualified, he was a bit emotional after losing to Nice yesterday deep in the night after losing his entire army to 2 ruptors in game 1 after dominating that map and then losing the series as a result. It was a painful loss but he regrouped today. Made it scary again though, that 2nd game v Geralt should of been a win and eating a storm in game 3 it didnt look bad for geralt for a bit.. Fun series

He forfeited NA as well, does it a lot in other tourneys ruining brackets, highly irritating. Hope he gets a warning for once

Actually his muktitask seemed very good but his micro like the bane clicking was a bit off.
That was it, entertaining stuff in the qualies. Any names you guys thought would of gone through? The NA one was a surprise fest for sure. Looking forward to the main draw!
Also the terran top-3 in EU qualifying after a triple protoss in NA..

I'm just glad we got all three of Showtime, Heromarine, and Clem. Pretty much the top dogs in the EU scene after Reynor and Serral

You'd almost think three of the best Zergs were already invited and a fourth didn't attempt to qualify.
And on the NA/EU side Scarlett did not participate. I think she would have qualified. It's strange how many players didn't participate in this or only played in 1/2 qualifiers with $30k on the line.

High Level Players, that come to my mind, that didn t participate in Qualifiers: Kr: Dark Na: Scarlett, Astrea, Future Eu: Lambo
E.: Appearently Lambo was late for signup and actually wanted to compete:

Well I love how accurate he was. I must say I expected Neeb or Special to ruin the 8/8 Eu/Kr Split and not Nice of all the people. But that s actually quite a pleasant suprise, to see him qualifying
Hopefully Serral Maru is played on NA west otherwise there's no hope. I wonder how Maru's wrists have been doing. The fact that he even played in this event suggests they're doing better.
I loved the torunamente hope to see more of these series just an amazing name and cool players around the world. Theres is a way to get the replays pack of these amazing tournament? TY GG
