This matchup on this map has been owning me pretty hardcore. From my experiences, the terran goes for a pretty standard dual-rax, but gets a late academy in order to get earlier tanks. He grabs a few medics and stim, and comes with about 2 tanks.
What's been killing me is that it's so hard to cover both the ramp to my main, and my expo. If only a 1-2 sunkens go down, there's an open path where a M&M army can run into the expo, where they will wreak havoc on everything. If they come from the other side it's easy to kill a few sunks, and then power push up my ramp.
I'm pretty confident that 12hatch won't work in this matchup, just because the 2nd hatch would need to go in position to cover both ramp and natural, which requires an early 3rd hatch. Not to mention the cost of building a few sunkens to cover both locations means that you aren't really benefitting from the extra hatcheries.
12pool also doesn't quite seem to cut it, as the earlier lings can't inflict damage, and you still require two hatcheries to effectively take and hold the expo.
I've been having minor luck with a 9pool, followed by 2 hatcheries on the bottom, but this usually relies on inflicting some damage with the early lings. However this is easily easily defeated by the early tanks.
I've also tried 1 base zerg, hoping to do damage with fast mutas or lurks, but a terran can so easily contain you in your own ramp. There's a huge open area where multiple tanks can create a deathzone for anything trying to get down.
Finally, I'm having a hell of a time finding replays of ZvT on this map. Pgtour has 1 where the zerg loses, and wgt doesn't seem to have any from the latest patch. Any suggestsions/hints for this map?

i just looked through the e-kasa replays and found two: 12 hatch at nat, died to a firebat rush cause the sunken came too late (bad scouting tho) 9 pool into 3 hatch, died to fac before acad as you described
solution is probably many sunks and good timing with the tech, on some positions it's not even that bad. T_T

you're supposed to expo by the gas only, not the mins. that will hold your ramp. I guess you take the expo later.
all from replays, though, I've never played rpoint

Meh, i always get killed in this map by a combination of bunker rush, wraith, mnm drop and tank push.
I hate R-point.

Ya you need SO many sunkens to cover both sides, and even then it forces you to spread them out, allowing smaller armies to kill them.

12 pool -> 3 hat lings should be safe...no cliffs. just time your droning and linging well.. mass lings should really own any kind of fact before acad build. u can also try going up his ramp with mass ling before he gets medic. or try burrow. but normally 3 hat mass ling will make a terran think twice before trying to fast tank you..

Have you tried hatch at your nat first followed by hatch at the choke after when you know what he's doing? That way if he 1-rax techs (unlikely) you can just 2-hatch play or if he 2-raxes you can mine your exp earlier. It's a good econ build so you can just make like 7-8 sunks while getting your lair tech. by the time you get your mutas (i think lurker opening off 3-hatch is a bit weak) you'll have had to replace a couple of sunks but you'll have a lot of mutas cos of 3 hatches and then play it normal from there. Either starve his attack (kiling re-enforcements) then crush it once you have the number or hard counter him (less wise).
Just make the extra sunks to stop the tank push, you're gonna have to just do it.

I always go 3 hatch on that map except when I start 5 (cuz rhen u can go 2 hatch).
And it work well for me ! Build many lings so if he are an optimist and try to attack after he have killed some sunks. you just run out with 2 groups speed lings and rape him with some left over sunken support.But mostly terans dont attack when he klnows that all sunkens are dead. But then you should have mutta or just buildt sunkens further away from his tanks so you have bought yourself the time for you mutta.
YOU can also go 9 pool speed lings and exp to lurker ling tech...

Induce a bunker rush by going 12 hatch exp, sneak drones and lings through the other choke, and kill his mining SCVs with them

It's not a problem at all if you start at bottom left, and it's decent bottom right, but both top spawns have a HUGE area to cover.

I always die when i 12 hatch on Rpoint to what i mentioned above. But i would guess that playing it like rush hour (11 hatch to nat, not to choke, followed by some pretty fast lurkers, followed by drone powering, 3rd hatch, make 3-4 lurkers at most and switch to mutas) would work.

Midian, time to come save the day plz.
Slight update though, I was able to pull off a win vs a competent player, though it was more of a mess-up on his part. He thought he had me contained well enough and pause his push to expand, and I had my way with him on the counter.

Hehe =.= I've never played it. Maybe if you gave replay i could see what you're doing wrong, but i don't really know the map as it is. I assume it's pretty hard zvt, though some positions are easier to defend than others from what I gather.
