the foreign scene in wc3 is helped by the fact that foreigners can actually compete at the upper echelons with koreans because it's an easier game
i'm really tired but that just struck me as being wrong - i'm off to bed lol So you are implying that korean are somehow inherently better at SC and War3, and therefore because War3 is an easier game "foreigners" have a chance? no he's implying that sc has a much higher learning curve and skill ceiling, so it's harder for foreigners to keep up with the super-focused koreans

I was rooting for Testie and hoping for amazing upset too =/

wowww~~~~
I honestly think he did the right thing. He wants to play for the people who wants to see him play, yet he knows he doesn't want to play for himself.
In the end it comes down what you want to do. He clearly knows his heart is in Dota and other games. He knows it won't be fair to play in a tournament he really doesn't want to put much time in, when other players below him are really dying to get a shot.
Sure his "fans" may be disappointed, but he's not a progamer who's income depends on his performance or popularity... he is playing this game for the pure pleasure of it, and right now he gets none. So it only makes sence that he pulls out now before the mist of it all.

No, what would make sense is if he pulled out prior to the end of the ladder when i talked to him about the situation.

No thats not what he meant because thats exactly what DKnight said and he said it was retarded when referring to it. If Koreans are more focused than that also means that foreigners are not as committed.
This actually brings up a great point about the foreign scene and StarCraft and why it never achieved the professionalism that WarCraft was able to - the lack of commitment (as well as fairplay) by many of the top players.

So if he can't go back in time and pull out then isn't pulling out now the next best thing?
edit: i pull this comment after reading ban reason

If he can't make the tourney work with his schedule and his personal interests then good for him dropping ouyt before round 1.
|
This is too bad, not only for the ladder but also for the fans. Anyway better now than later. Also much luck to Horror, he sure better be motivated.

Nope mani actually banned him. I hope he gets unbanned, at least let him release a reppack or something.

We requested reps from all players, over 90% either said they are in the process of sending or have already sent replays. Testie is one of the few who has not. We are still waiting though.

I guess you could respect Testie for dropping out, and giving somebody who WANTS to win a shot. However, you have to admit, his timing sucks ass.

One of the few times in Testie's BW career he's had a problem with timing.
I kid the Testie, I kid.

that chat is so ridiculous, testie is a huge douchebag who caused a lot of hassle to the organizers because he's too stubborn and indecisive

actually yeah you're right hahaha

I know people are only upset because they love Testie and that's reallly the only reason. But if he is gonna pull stuff like this again, maybe he should stick to DOTA and not drop out because he is scared to be knocked out early because he hasn't prepeared as much.
Anyways.... GL to horror and to Testie. Im sure it's safe to say that afros like his don't grown on trees or on anything white that isn't a sheep

NEW POLL: whats worse: Testie caught hacking back in the day, or testing dropping out of TSL?
|
testie has and always will be afraid of looking bad and not feeling like top dog. he keeps dropping outta tournaments when he knows he will get destroyed in teh first round, and didnt want to pursue korea probally for the same reason, i mean kid dropped outta high school and is probally flipping burgers, you think going to korean for a life changing experience is really gonna hurt your five year plan? lol..
