he rose up thru the ranks in the early ASL days when mech-switch was meta in TvZ and he could utilize his excellent mech play then after death of mech-switch and better mutalisk control after Remastered came out, Sharp frequently lost games either with bad early-game decisions or getting bodied by mutas. He's just never been as good as other top Terrans in his marine/medic vs muta exchanges, or even turret vs muta exchanges near mineral lines. don't get me wrong, on his good days Sharp can late-game SK Terran like a beast, and he has been making slight improvements over time, but I think without massive improvement he's not going to beat a top zerg in a bo5 or bo7. I just hope he gets some coaching from Light or hits up Fantasy (who implied he had thought of way to make mech-switch viable again) for some strats

I guess it was about time Hero has another chance at the title, Hero and Rush both consistently make it pretty deep into ASL.

Would be pretty funny if, in all the context about zergs crying about imbalance, we get a ZvZ final.

Last season was same. You look at online stats and pvz is in very good spot. Once again, foreigners determining zerg is imba just based on 10 games. They would rather look at 10~20 game sample sizes and not 1000+ games.

But he was looking great this season, I was so impressed with how he played against Best and in the first game against Hero. Really caught myself cheering for him a lot. And considering that Best was the first pro I really got attached to that means A LOT! Then he got smashed.

If you are a pro playing against Sharp, just make an extra sunken or an extra cannon or something to counter the vultures and you can outplay him. I feel like at the pro level, everyone plays more into their own game theory for optimal play and tries playing almost too "perfect". Many of them don't look at opponents typical styles and take the risks to blind counter them. In the long run, it's definitely better to play how they are but those small risks of playing based on opponents typical traits are some of what separates guys like FlaSh and others.

Yeah, that is obviously one of Bests biggest flaws, his inability to adapt to his opponent. But I think you are very right, what separates the elites of the elites is their ability to read their opponents and adapt. Take someone like Mini, he does it sometimes but to often he makes mistakes. I think Snow is in a bit of a similar situation, I feel like a lot of his losses is based on him having a bad read of a situation rather than being outplayed. But they both can and do adapt, but aren't as consistently reading their opponents as well as the people with several titles.
