I saw some of you guys posting these in the BW General Discussion. Cool. Let's share them here from now on! Read below before posting.
Posting format: Post a link (with a time stamp!!) to the beginning of the game you wish to recommend and provide a short description underneath why it should be watched.
In case your description spoils the result, spoiler it or the part that does. Add player names and races too like so:
:Z: :P: :T:
Your post will look like this: Video url Player vs Player Description
Or if the game is commentated in English: Video url Commentator name(s) Player vs Player Description
How to post a VOD with a time stamp:
Twitch add ?t=1h2m3s to the url Or click Share in the bottom right and check the box for the time.
YouTube add &t=1h2m3s to the url You can right click the VOD to get the timestamp like that too.
Afreeca add ?change_second=1337 to the url You can right click the VOD on Afreeca to get the timestamp.
If h, m or s equals 0, just leave it out entirely. Example: t=1h23s will make the VOD start playing at 1 hour and 23 seconds.
Here is how to put something in a spoiler:
text here
But how do I find the VOD? Browse to your favorite streamer: e.g. https://www.twitch.tv/diggity Now add /videos to the url (https://www.twitch.tv/diggitysc/videos) Click on the most recent or older VOD there. The most recent one is a VOD of the current stream in case your streamer is live.
Afreeca goes like this: e.g. https://play.afreecatv.com/tmsh401/ Snow Now make it: https://bj.afreecatv.com/tmsh401/vods to find the most recent VODs. You can also browse to it by clicking on the Afreeca icon left below the stream that says "Go to Blog" when you hover your mouse over it, after that click on "VOD".
YouTube should be self-explanatory.
I just wanna talk about the game, let me talk about the game! Discussion on games is allowed and encouraged, BUT: - Put your message in a spoiler. Always. - As soon as a new VOD is posted, the discussion for previous VOD ends, no exceptions.
Some additional posting rules: - Do not post more than 1 VOD (i.e. 1 game) at a time and wait at least 1 hour if a VOD was just posted. - Don't post shitty games, this includes ones of you and your mate(s). No1 cares. - No self-promotion. - To keep everyone happy, if both a YouTube and Afreeca VOD are available, please post the YouTube one.
These rules are to keep the thread in chronological order and neat. Enjoy and have fun!
Disclaimer: A recommended game could spoil you of earlier results of a tournament or showmatch series. If this happens it's not the poster's fault. Use the Small VOD Thread 2.0 if you wish to not be spoiled of any recent results.
Guys, please put your messages in spoilers so we can all scroll through the thread without having to see/read all your bullshit if we don't care to. If you don't, this thread will easily become a giant clusterfuck.
Let's make this about watching great games first and foremost. In case you don't agree with a VOD posted, the best thing you can do is post a better one (remember the 1 hour rule here). Also: If you have any doubts about whether a VOD is good enough for this thread, don't bother posting it.

I was already a fan of Royal, but that game is on a whole new level. He's been having a hard time against protoss on 76, but it seems he's found an answer. I'm hoping this becomes one of the better late game strats.
Funny you should ask. It were your posts that inspired me to make this thread. The other inspiration was Stratos' thread.
The goal of this thread is to watch great 1v1s (not just casual games) and teach people where to find and how to post a VOD. Unlike Stratos' thread I opted for this thread to become a self-sustaining thing, a for the community, by the community kinda thing if you will.
I was not aware of The Casual Games of the Week Thread prior to making this thread, but I believe this thread is different enough to not kill it. If you don't like this thread please feel free to post games there instead. If this thread stops being used then I'll happily close it.

Indeed, sometimes I post some nice games in the BW general, instead of the casual games of the week thread because I think more people are checking that thread
I've been impressed by Snow's PvZ lately, and this game shows once more how well he understands the matchup. He plays a style similar to this even against the best zerg players.
One of the best games BSL has produced so far. Foreigners are still clearly not on the level of Korean pros, but they haven't been this strong before for sure.
I was surprised that Team Protoss decided to revive Snow for their last chance. Not Mini, not Bisu. But man, were they so right about that decision? That game vs Hero is sick
Man I'm so impressed with SnOw's level. He's so calm when playing PvZ and waits outs every zerg. Plays so smart, splits his army, how he pushes with his units only a bit, to sense where Zerg is moving and keeping tabs on their armies. Lures them away just a bit to foce the zerg to 1a2a3a or burrow, only to storm them and whittle them down little by little.
Most Protoss bait themselves into a composition trap and are too often forced to attack because they got out maneuvered, but if you watch this FPVODs, he stays so calm, even when you can see Zergs attacking him in more than one front, getting defilers on the front of his base or getting doom dropped.
And it's not just reavers, he dances around scourge with sairs, landed sick storms on scourge/mute more than once and played DTs everywhere, going all the way around like a cover ops mission. Such a joy to watch.

Very well said. I think he's very good at creating and exploiting scenarios where zerg is overextended or otherwise fragile. With that he questions the commonly accepted aggressive mobility zerg is known to have.
Maybe zerg can use parasite and ensnare to track and catch shuttles and reavers in the late game. A queen moves slightly faster than an upgraded shuttle. If I played zerg I would certainly try that.

What you said reminded me of this one: soma (FPVOD) vs Snow Map: Retro Very long game. A unit we don't see too often, specially in ZvP makes its appearence.

What you said didn't really happen but I was thinking it every time a Shuttle flew in successfully.
Wow that game is huge, nice find Thanks for posting
Utterly ridiculous Shuttle Reaver performance from Snow. I've never seen the teammates of a player wowwing that much during a Proleague game. Even Rush had to smile in admiration.
At 6:30 is amazing. I thought that was only possible when a tank was being sieged and not fully sieged yet. It seems like (on LAN latency?) you can unload and load immediately if the tank barrel is facing the opposite direction to dodge the hit. Very interesting.
Also makes me wonder if Kal was still playing would he have developed his rvr play to this state as well?
Finally got around to watching this one, that game's a real gem for sure. Even the introduction to the reaver harassment is very instructive, the way Snow opens up Rush's defenses to expose weak points in his base before he starts going bananas. Lots of wow moments one after the other. Thanks for posting!

Shuttle(u)/Queen has the same speed. You can use liquipedia as source.

I did use Liquipedia, it says the queen is faster with 4.963 compared to an upgraded shuttle with 4.962. That's the reason why scourges catch up to shuttles, but not to corsairs.

Interesting game between Light and Snow from Light's perspective.
Description of the opening phase (doesn't spoil the result): + Show Spoiler +
Light does an oldschool 1 base 2 factory push. He succeeds in destroying Snow's expansion, but Snow returns the favor with his trademark reaver shuttle control. Can Light stop the madness and win the game?
My recommendations are all epic long games (which maybe you've noticed I happen to like). Linking the Korean Vods, but I think the English commentary by Saiyan is also up.
This game could qualify as the best PvP I've ever seen. It's Bisu vs Snow showing why they're some of the best protoss players of all time. Timestamped at 3h 27m 0s.

Then you clearly haven't seen enough of PvP between Snow and Mini. All other Protosses, including the current version of Rain, are one level below them in PvP.
When these two play each other in a no-DT-rush PvP, they can never get past Reaver tech (because if one dares, the other will finish him immediately). In fact they rarely get past 100 supplies either. It's always insane Dragoon Reaver battles all over the map. A while ago they had a game where it eventually came down to one or two units at the end with both mining out on 2 bases and almost all the probes gone.
The ending is one of the most, if not the most, bizarre and hilarious ending I have ever seen. The map is totally mined out and both players have no money left. Soulkey doesn't have any units apart from a few Queens. Best has a lot of DAs but no fighting units apart from 1 Reaver with no scarab and a few Probes. But Soulkey has one a half Sunkens left lol. Soulkey can't win for sure but how can Best? At one point Best even tried to drop-micro a Probe to attack the Sunken without taking hits from it, but didn't work.
Then miraculously Best found 124 minerals left somewhere in the map and pulled all his DAs to protect 3 Probes to mine those from Soulkey's Queens. Soulkey gg.
KCM 2024 S2 W4 Set 3 started as normal, some would say boring, then suddenly flip itself on its toes and became wild. The ending is something you'd never imagine. + Show Spoiler +
