Vote for your favorite player for super fight 5
Yellow[Arnc] definitely deserves a spot there along with Jaedong. Right now, Yellow[Arnc] and Gorush both have 17% votes while July leads the vote with 25%.
Consider Yellow[Arnc]'s recent performance in OSL, i think his presence in SF5 will make the game more competitive. So please support him!

voted july/gorush oov/casy pusan/ra
not sure why...

i think Yellow&Jaedong has the best performance recently. i am surprised that Iris has so many votes....
|
My Votes: Terran: NaDa, iloveoov, XellOs Protoss: Bisu[Shield], AnyTime[gm], Nal_Ra Zerg: SaviOr, JulyZerg, GoRush Interesting. JulyZerg leads the Poll in Zerg by far with 25%. iloveoov 21% and Midas 16% leads in Terran. The Korean Progamers I just mentioned seems to be very popular in South Korea considering they 3 participated in WCG 2006. AnyTime[gm] in the Protoss Poll is second with 22%. And Nal_Ra leads by far with more than 10,000 votes and a 36%. Now I understand better why SlayerS_`BoxeR` had that rivalry with Nal_Ra.

you voted nada/bisu/savior?
SO DID I? WtF?

...
Ra so owns the poll, he has got 36% and noone can beat him I voted Gorush and Chojja. I really want protoss to win
|
Interesting stuff. Who knew Oov had so many fans? I though baby bear would be leading the terran pack. rA is in for sure, and it seems Anytime is going to beat out Pusan.

Jaedong... which MU will you have him play? His expertise is zvz, with a good zvt and subpar zvp. yarnc + july makes more sense.

so the voting is finished? July, GoRush, Iris, OOv, Anytime and Nal_Ra?

I guess the voting is done o_O Whenever I go to the link there is a huge white box that is covering the site. lol

this probably could have backfired. 'fake yellow' isn't exactly popular with the broader fanbase around here it seems, just because of a name.
|
I only want IriS and IriS for T
|
so its cooked? july/gorush + iris/iloveoov + ra/anytime could be better imo yellow is in better shape, midas is simply >>> iris and ilove on tvz&& tvp atm and please if you are a protoss fan you DONT WANT TO BE REPRESENTED BY ANYTIME, anyways ra+bisu= imbatoss >>> savior+july+gorush+kerrigan+zergworld
|
As far as I can tell it's finished and the winners are;
박태민 - GoRush? 박성준 - July
변형태 - Iris 최연성 - oov
오영종 - Anytime 강민 - Ra

wtf Oov is leading the T's..this is..i don't know what to say..and GoRush .. c'mon that's not real..$#%^&*

i dont fucking care i just wanna see a rematch of bisu vs savior. DO IT! EVERY TIME! ^_^
ofcourse oov would be ok to see if he's back to his old form.
|
Well gorush is quiet popular with girls while Oov is popular with boys so not surprising at all.
I voted
JJU/Chojja Oov/Xellos Ra/Anytime
I think the main reason why Ra is dominating the poll is because there are not as many popular protoss around as much as T or Z. If Reach was there he couldn't have dominated.
Poll is still open until 20/Mar/2007 by the way..
With help of TL we can get Midas into the game! so vote for Midas! I'd rather see Midas than Iris in superfight... I just don't like Iris.

I voted: Jju, fake yellow Midas, Xellos (I would've voted for Hwasin or Casy but I'm a Xellos fanboy) rA, much
I'm not sure why people are voting for Iris... his best MU is TvT, and afaik, this is a war between races, so no same MU?
|
come on casy and midas!! what a team!
and much has to be on the PROTOSS TEAM!
|
I want Protoss to win this even though everyone knows terran is the ultimate race. Just because Protoss has been neglected so much in the recent starleagues

Only Midas trailing from my choices he's in third from the terrans.

iloveOOv (20%) Iris (16%) Midas (16%) Casy (15%)
Nal_rA (36%) Anytime (22%)
July, oov, rA, and Anytime are pretty much in for sure The second terran and zerg players are still pretty much up for grabs

oh thanks SonuvBob and PoP for the progamizer link. i was stupidly comparing "OK Au>>face is Midas..." (incidentally, wow, that kinda fits his name, the legend of king midas turning his daughter into gold)
but wtf! midas should be up there for sure! oov would've been like my 5th choice, and now i regret also voting iris just cuz i'd rather have midas in.
seems like the fans have long memories, so many old schoolers. gorush does not deserve it at all these days, imo. protoss is about right though.

oh duh, i just realized that picking one-matchup-wonders would totally be worth it here, because they can just choose them for those matchups.
which makes me wonder more why iris is up there. seems like both his tvp and tvz are solid but not particularly great.
if i were to revote, i'd still pick yarnc (zvt) + jaedong (zvp), but change terran to casy (tvz) midas (tvp), and maybe switch free over anytime for pvz (keeping ra)

C'mon people! Vote Midas!! Let's send Midas to superfight instead of Iris! He has better chance against Savior and yes we can make a difference because he's only about 20 votes behind.. Show power of tl.net!

Hmm, I'd be intersted to find out what players he was faced against during those matches, and how many games that constitutes (most of those games are from Survivor / Proleague I'd imagine).
The last two zvp's I have seen from him, were vs Free in Survivor where he got outclassed badly (0-2 on... DF and LongII?), and against Bisu in Kespa Cup where again he lost without much of a fight. Granted these are two of the best PvZ'ers today, but then again, he is only going to face PvZ experts in this Superfight 5. *shrugs*

rofl after all these years no one likes chojja/goodfriend. I'm surprised silver even got any votes!
Anytime is getting voted because he is uber flashy. Nal_ra / Anytime is what I predicted anyways, the cheeser and the standard man, along side the perfect combo of protoss.

Still things wrong with your reasoning: Savior, Nada, and Bisu are already set. Otherwise, it's likely they'd have the highest votes in each section. It also happened that more popular players made it this year. Also oov and July have a history of being the most dominant player at their peaks, which is what people remember. Otherwise if WCG mattered, Xellos would have a lot more votes, no?
WCG plays a very limited role at best in this voting.

Carlodajin, it is a mere coincidence that some of the players from previous WCGs are leading.
As far as I know, none of the tosses (bisu, nal_ra, and anytime) have went to wcg before. As azndsh said, both July and iloveoov have been dominant forces in the past -- and dominant players are remembered. Since this is a popularity contest, it's not surprising that these two will receive a lot of votes. Also, Iris and fake Yellow have not been in wcg.
Players who were previously in WCG that are winning: july, and oov Players who never went to WCG but are winning or are already in: savior, fake yellow, nada, iris, bisu, anytime, nal_ra
Correct me if I'm wrong.

July/FakeYellow Midas/Casy Nal_rA/Anytime
I really hope this tourney may bring Anytime back from his current slump... I was really surprised by how many fans Iris seems to have, considering how he's not the prettiest boy (but his nick is "Sexy Terran"?).
Oov has been slumping pretty hard too, but I guess a lot of people are old schoolers. Midas should at least be #2.

Personally, I don't like how Carlo has some sort of flaming immunity. I would point out again his 3 WCG participants and other 6 who have not been involved with WCG at all, but somehow I foresee that this will have no effect. (perhaps the 100000 times people having tried and failed to convince him was an indicator)
And then going on to say that "it's too obvious to even discuss"...... *sigh*
I mean, I know this guy has a great heart and everything, and that he loves Korea and StarCraft very very much -- probably more than everyone else on TL, but having spent all that time reading/discussing in my God thread, I cannot help but feel that he gets the same kind of immunity from criticisms of irrationality just like religion does -- which I think is completely unjustified. If it was any other member (not staff, not well-known), he would have been flamed so bad that he would've cried. If there was some reason for this protection which I am blatantly ignorant of, someone PM me.
Anyways, regardless of whether or not this supports Carlo's theory, GO XELLOS! XELLOS FANBOY 4EVER! YOU CAN'T LOSE TO A TEDDY BEAR AND A GORILLA!

Silver+sAviOr against protoss and YarnC+sAviOr against terran what is july supose to be good against?
is Nal_rA and Pusan ok? don't know free very well. is Much good against terran?
NaDa can do the job against zerg, and he's good against toss. i picked Midas because he is the best against protoss and hes TvZ is ok. don't pick Casy, he sux against Protoss! (iOi = casy? he's damn good against zerg, the best) but maybe FirebatHero can help.
please tell me: 1) is firebatHero a good option? 2) is Much the best against terran? 3) what are July and Pusan best MU?
|
yarnc and midas have somewhat comfortable leads now, woo, TL wins again.
it doesn't matter if casy sucks against protoss, because they can just not pick him for that matchup. he may be the best against zerg, which is why i voted for him (along with midas). savior has already shown he can beat nada, midas has a chance, but having the top two tvz options would be better. midas/nada are definitely also among the best against protoss.

Its seems this were the Definitive Results!. Votes closed. JulyZerg, GoRush, iloveoov, Midas, Nal_Ra and AnyTime[gm] in SuperFight 5
The highly anticipated Korean Race War is only ten days away. The online poll is over, and the nine players are determined.
- I have utter confidence in Terran; NaDa and Midas are sAviOr level monsters, says cYaN about the Terran team.
SuperFight 5 Lineups Team Zerg SaviOr (CJ Entus) JulyZerg (MBC Hero) GoRush (SKT1) Team Terran NaDa (Pantech EX) iloveoov (SKT1) Midas (SKT1) Team Protoss Bisu (MBC Hero) Nal_rA (KTF) AnyTime (Lecaf OZ)
sAviOr, NaDa and Bisu were already chosen to take part in the SuperFight 5: Ultimate Race, and the last six players were to be determined via an online poll. When the betting closed it was clear that we get to see the reigning WCG Korea trio iloveoov, Midas and JulyZerg, plus Nal_rA, AnyTime and GoRush. The event will kick off at 31st of March with the first round giving us every matchup - Terran versus Zerg, Zerg versus Protoss and Protoss versus Terran.
Our Korean expert cYaN doubts that the Protoss team will survive that long. - They are the outsider team, they will have a hard time, he says. He mentions that Nal_rA is a wildcard as usual and that it will be interesting to see Bisu play. He is more positive in the Terran team. - I have utter confidence in Terran; NaDa and Midas are sAvioR level monsters and then you have iloveoov who is a bit off form but Cheater Terran is no one to playing around with, he says. When it comes to Zerg with their superstar sAvioR, it is a good team too. - July and GoRush at their current form might be kids sitting at the grown up table this time around, he further says.

The Terran team is going to rape. GoRush over YellOw Jr. wtf?

I love how Carlo's identification is by WCG achievements.
Anyways, I'm sort of disappointed about the Protosses - Anytime is a one trick horse [can do well in fall OSL] and sucks at EVERYTHING else [stomped in proleague, stomped in non-fall OSLs, stomped in survivor, stomped in invitationals]
Pusan would have been a manlier and better chocie.
oov is fine, midas is fine [would have preferred Casy but then... eh]
GoRush :D I like.

Picking anytime over pusan is like picking Boxer over me -_-;
It totally sucks and is pretty pretty risky. :o

PLEASE REMEMBER!!! THIS IS NOT THE FINAL RESULT!!
The online poll is only 70% of the actual poll. The last 30% is a vote from professionals/officials.... in other words, those who know their stuff and not those who just vote for big names.
The final results will be announced on the 23rd of March.
In the protoss section, Ra leads by a large margin (10,000 votes more than AnyTime, who's #2) and will most likely make it in. AnyTime is ahead of PuSan, who's #3 by 3,000 votes. 4th is Much, who trails behind PuSan by 3,000 votes as well. By their recent performance, Much and AnyTime will probably get most of the remaining 30%, but since AnyTime is ahead of Much by 6,000 votes... AnyTime will probably make it in.
But the Terran users are all pretty close. Though Oov leads in first place and Midas in second, they are only 2,000 votes apart while IriS trails by 2,000 votes, and Casy behind by only 1,000. The eSports official votes can definiately make some changes.
As for the zergs, July leads with 24% of the votes, while GoRush follows with 3,000 votes apart. But YellOw[ArnC] is only 1,000 votes below GoRush, and judging by their recent performance, it shouldn't be a surprise if YarnC passes GoRush. (remember the all-kill at KeSPA Cup 2?)
Judging by the margin, Ra and AnyTime have a good chance of being in. As for the others, in my opinion, YellOw[ArnC] and July will make it... but the terrans are trickly. Most likely Oov and either IriS or Midas.

how can anyone pick oov right now iris and casy and nada are the best terrans imo
sad to see gorush instead of yellow too.

=[ man... protoss are going to get waxed, Bisu is great, but iono, perhaps overrated? ra i guess is still the powerhouse he always was (despite the off season), but anytime? =[ jesus... much wouldve been the better choice imo; he has the skill atm to win, unlike anytime Zerg look semi-powerful, Savior/July/Gorush; the best 3 zergs ever bar yellow, perhaps hot in his prime (i think its safe to say that), this team is formidable and all three have shown some sign on form (especially july's latest games) Terran should be good as well, Nada/Midas/Oov, nada is in form still, midas is somewhat losing it; but still has what it takes, and oov is just a gorilla
personally, im looking forward to this... i want to see anytime get stomped by oov revenge for So1

Boxer winning WCG twice must make him a god a something. They should make the winner fight BoxeR in Micro Area.

Its seems this were the Definitive Results!. Votes closed. "When the betting closed it was clear that we get to see the reigning WCG Korea trio iloveoov, Midas and JulyZerg" Terran: iloveoov(1st WCG 2006) 20% and 15,244 votes Midas(3rd WCG 2006) 18% and 13,178 votes Protoss: Nal_Ra 36% and 26,873 votes AnyTime[gm] 22% and 16,571 votes Zerg: JulyZerg(2nd WCG 2006) 24% and 17,774 votes GoRush(1st WCG 2000) 19% and 14,120 votes

Carlo, don't trust Gosugamers. Their source comes from a German website while mine comes from the FighterForum and SuperFight itself.
THIS IS NOT THE FINAL LINEUP DAMMIT!
Like I said, this is only 70% if the polls, and Terran poll is way too close to assume anything just yet.
The only race that you can assume is Protoss, since Ra has an overwhelming number of votes and AnyTime has a slight marging ahead of Much.
DON'T MAKE ME SAY IT AGAIN!!! IT'S NOT FINAL
