just another video for your enjoyment. Was going to draw this on toned paper, but then I have to use white charcoal and pastel for the highlights, which is fine except you can't spray-fix those and also frankly it's much simpler to draw in black rather than the reverse. I'm really digging vine charcoal lately, this medium is so easy to manipulate.

It's hard to tell since your hand moves so fast in the video. My guess would be that he hovers his hand over the picture, not touching it. I dont see how it would work otherwise, although it's really hard.

Still admire the skills of course. that's the beauty of timelapse art video, those who prefer the rough and expressive style, the art of 1min mark is in there, as are the images at 2min mark for those who like more realistic and polished style. no need to focus purely on the final image. Early on all those weird marks on the right side is my hand pressing against the background, this is why I generally start the picture top left to bottom right. And of course like post below said I hover my hand whenever I can, especially when I'm drawing the left side and my hand is right over the face. Even with all the precautions I do accidentally smudge bits and pieces here and there still, I just clean them up as I go along.

Willing to start drawing as a hobby (recently bought a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet), and I wanted to ask: how did you learned to draw like this? Art school or by yourself? And if by yourself, what books/videos did you use? And can you do concept art drawings (character/ environments/ vehicles)?

And can you do concept art drawings (character/ environments/ vehicles)? self taught, I actually don't own a tablet right now. I been wanting to get one and play around with it. and you really do need it and go digital for concept art. Concept art is really different from what I do, you have to understand lighting and structure/anatomy in a different way, but It's fun and I do want to try/practice it at some point. I had done a lot of full body drawings, just not for YouTube. A lot of them are private commissions. and a lot of them are not work safe lol. maybe I'll do one for YouTube at some point.
