On July 12th, Bandai Namco invited content creators and media to Fullerton California for a chance to play a demo of Armored Core VI (other similar events were held in different areas). It was a full event with theming, a life sized AC, a rideable quad mech, and lots of gameplay. FromSoftware's Yamamura and Ogura were there as well, and not only did we get a chance to play the game for 5+ hours, but we also got a presentation and interview with the FromSoftware team.

Appreciate how you got a bunch of the hands-on videos for the demo in one place. I've really been trying to balance my absolute desire to see as much of the game as I can with my desire to save stuff to see for myself when I finally get to play. It has been a very, very long time since a new game got me this excited. Elden Ring was easily the best game of 2022, but I've been waiting over 10 years for this. They can take their time with Shadow of the Erdtree, I'll be plenty occupied with AC6.
I haven't seen all the videos you linked, but I have come across a few myself in the wild. The Writing on Games and VaatiVidya videos are ones I had a special appreciation for, they both came in as general lovers of Soulsborne games, and had essentially no idea that Armored Core was a thing until AC6 was announced. They both then went back, played all the old games to see what the series was about, and came away completely infatuated with the old games, and incredibly excited for this new title, in a way that goes beyond it just being a FromSoftware title.
It feels satisfying to me on a level that's hard to express, to not only see my favorite series of all time get such a glorious revival, but to see others finally come to appreciate it as well. I'm vibrating with excitement for August 25th.
Also, since I mentioned that the Writing on Games channel and VaatiVidya both had a journey of discovering what the entire Armored Core series is about in response to the announcement of Armored Core VI, I'm gonna post those here as well. I think these two videos, along with the official trailers, should serve as a good introduction to what AC6 is gonna be all about.

I know they're both on the lengthy side, but they're both very good evaluations of a series with a lot of history, and are interesting just from a game design standpoint alone. I encourage the watch for anyone interested in Armored Core 6, older Armored Core games, or FromSoftware games in general.
Heard about it a while ago. Elden Ring was my first FromSoft game and still amazes me, I want to play this one : D Haven't played a mech game in a really long time but totally enjoyed the one I did, even got my nickname from it lul. (StarSiege)
Visually this looks stunning. But will proper SP game be supported or is it one of those "modern" games that has no half decent AI and will be PvP viable only?

FromSoftware has made a point that AC6 is going to be a single-player game first and foremost, with PvP modes added to that. The hands-on demo event for the game allowed people to play the first of 5 main chapters of the story, which consisted of 11 missions, for 4 hours. Theories are that it's just a small part of the total game, I'd estimate 15% or less. There are also multiple endings, and new content that opens up on additional playthroughs.
There will be a full set of arena opponents the player can face off against in-between missions, and lots of cool ways to progress and unlock new customization options for your mech. If you happen to have played AC5 in the past, that was a distinctly experimental entry in the Armored Core series that focused on the online multiplayer aspect. AC6 is firmly returning to Armored Core as a full-fledged single-player experience.
I've never played AC before but I'm really excited for this game, can't wait for it to come out. From Software has proven themselves to be, imo the best game devs alive right now. Absolute bangers for the last 14 years straight.

Thank you, that was very helpful!
I've never played any of these games in the past but was curious as unfortunately most games these days have a MP focus and completely neglect the SP aspect of it.
Being able to do the story and then my own skirmish scenarios is what makes these types of games for me. Having no skirmish with AI mode, or incredible incompetent AI as the focus was on loot and/or MP kills it for me, instantly. But based on your feedback, i'm glad they went with another direction!

Blizzard? Riot? Unless you mean non competitive multiplayer games
Loved the Mech Warrior games back in the day. This looks pretty similar just faster and harder. Is there PvP or all PvE? It's on my wishlist for now since I don't have time anyhow.

The game has PvP. You unlock the Nest PvP interface as you progress a certain amount through the main story. Because, yes, the game is fast, the game is hard, and doing a chunk of story ensures that you're practiced with the combat and have enough parts that PvP is worth the time.
